What kind of judicial system is this? If someone is proven afterwards, that is one thing, you had your shot! But if you confess to it afterwards yourself, shouldn't there be stipulations?

Our attempts to determine the form of government in Afghanistan and Iraq are no different than in Vietnam (true or false and why)?

Hi Lawyers (& Anyone Who Answers),

I have a small talent agency, and one of my clients booked a temporary (non-permanent) tattoo artist (t.t.a.) from me. Long story short is that the t.t.a. canceled at the last minute and for a very questionable reason. As the talent agent, I would have earned $100.00 had she showed up, performed the work I hired her to do, etc.. She left the teenagers and some adults at my client's event without the t.t.a. they contracted for. She has been the least bit remorsefull of her actions (or lack thereof), and as such, I am strongly considering filing a lawsuit against her so that she is held responsible. Do I have the ground for a (successful) lawsuit? If so, why? If not, why not? If so, should I sue the t.t.a. for the $100.00 I would have 'netted,' or for the entire (gross) amount my client would have paid me (t.t.a.'s fee + my fee)?

Thanks in advance to those who take the time to consider and reply to my question.

Sincerely,
EndlessJoy

I've been told by a couple of people that if the speed limit is 30mph there's an exception of going 35mph w/o being pulled over. Anyone else heard this? Is this true?

I have known this guy for 5 years through community theater. He has always given a "creepy" vibe, so anytime I've talked to him (he mostly IM's me from time to time) I kept things on level 1 (like hows the weather?) kind of stuff. Never anything personal. Well, the other day, he decides to send me a webcam image of himself exposing and fondling his genitals. I told him that that was uncalled for and inappropriate. He then called my house. I filed a police report under harrassment. Today, he kept IMing me after I told him not to talk to me. He IMed me for 2 hours after I signed offline and went to work. He won't leave me alone now. He keeps trying to talk to me about what he did. He wants us to "work out our problems." I can't block him because if I choose to file charges I need the proof of harrassment. What do I do?

Anyone caught with a certain amount of drugs has to consume all of it on the spot, even if death is caused.

Any murder commited is returned to the killer in the same manner.
--If multiple murders are commited, then the least fatal procedure is administered in order until death is caused.

Now I am fired up about this second hand smoke debate!

Is smoke free the way to go?

I say yes!!

I have heard people try to justify away why smoking should not be banned in public places. All I hear is people trying to compare it to other things that are bad. Yes, there are all kinds of bad things in this world. However, it is mine and others rights not to have to sit in a confined space breathing in what your bad habit is producing!! There is absolutely no good coming out of smoking other than the tobacco companies making millions!! Smoking is not a necessity so why should you be allowed to do it when you are putting my life and the lives of others and our children in jeopardy?

Don't give me lame excuses like "well why don't they ban SUV's then?" If SUV's are as big of a threat to our health as your second hand smoke then I would agree that they should be banned. It doesn't make smoking in public places okay then.
I am glad for the crack down on smoking!
Your Thoughts?

I'm writing to you and let you know how unfair you non-smoking law is.You people want a smoke free world. What about our rights to have a alcohol free and a gambling free world? Some of us would like to go to any ball game, bowling,a company party, fancy Restaurant, gas station, department& food store without seeing and smelling alcohol in the building.I'm also tired of seeing lotto tickets, scratch off, bingo halls and schools having their students selling bake goods, stuff for school function door to door.Kids are at school to learn, writing, math, spelling, history not to sell things to get a prize.Gambling and Alcohol should be outlawed if your going to take our smoking rights away from us those should be stopped as well!!Your only teaching that it's okay to drink, gamble and hussle and smoking is forbidded. You took smoking avertisemants off the TV,magizines, bulltin boards, but you welcome Alcohol avertisement with open arms!!!while it takes millions of peoples lives everyday!!!Just so our Goverment can make a quick buck and the Alcoholics have their right to drink and gamble. We as smokers don't have the right to smoke at all.We work and pay taxes just as well as everyone else does and they get more rights then us.I'm sorry I don't drink.I'd rather be alert then drunk off my *** and kill a person or myself. So many people say that smoking is killing them and it stinks,Well I'm here to tell you that Alcohol is killing me and it stinks and destorys millions of lives. But I guess that's okay, just don't smoke, right? Being hit by a drunk driver, abused(mental & physical),liver transplant, broken homes is all caused by smoking? I think not!!!!! Alcohol is more like it!!!!Banned Alcohol from stores,Ball games,Restaurant, gas station and stop gambling!!!!I vote for a alcohol and gambling free world!!!!!!!!!If you don't plan to give us a alcohol and gambling free world!!Then give us back our rights to smoke!!!!

Why is it that in "victimless crimes" like prostitution and the sale of drugs, both parties are held criminally responsible and liable, wheras in the equally "victimless" crime of violating a price control (such as charging more for rent or paying less then the minimum wage), only the seller faces legal consequences?

Black people make up a very small part of the population, but commit a large percentage of the crime. Why is it not OK to be a little racist towards them? (not enough to be violent, but enough to not fully trust them until you get to know them)

If they want us to treat them equally, why don't they start acting civilized like the rest of society?

i live in Cleveland OH and saw jets headed due east on Sep 11. They never talk about those fighters when they review that day (there were three of them)

I think Bush thot it would be too disgraceful to say we shot down our own plane, so they made up this story about how the people fought back. More inspiring I reckon...and it actually may be true, but the plane was shot down...it wasn't crashed manually

Ok, so there is this guy that always comes into my work...He is a really cool guy and all but I am always uncomfortable around him. He does this thing where he comes up beind us (girls) and reaches between our legs and touches our private areas and whistling really loud to scare us. Like one time he did it I said " Why do you do that, it freaks me out" and he says in return "you know it makes you all wet and sticky feeling" I am always like "no it doesn't" He always makes comments about my boobs because they are really big. He also makes comments about me and another girl, he tells us all the things he wants us to do together. I guess my real question is.. Is Sexual Harrasment when you tell them to stop and they think you are joking about it because the tone you say it in? I mean the things he does is completly unwanted. He does it in front of cops and they know he is joking and we laugh too because we dont want everyone to think we are trying to start stuff...so can anyone help!?
