Dear Henry,

Principles are important, however before you choose to do time, I would suggest that you read chapter ten-Violence, of my book, God's Gunner's, Booty Bandits, & Bad Boys, available for free, at www.r25288.com.

Chapter fourteen, pages two and three show what agents, publishers, lawyers, authors, professors, gays, and others have to say about the book.

My biography is available by clicking on Page R25288 at the bottom of the website. I have ten years in law enforcement, and I also spent four years, three months, and two weeks, on the other side of the razorwire.

It's your choice, Henry, but wearing a seatbelt, paying a fine, beats doing time.

In general, if you Can't pay the fine you wont be jailed. If you Won't pay the fine, you could be committing a crime that will leave you in jail much longer. A seatbelt violation ( in the US anyway) is usually considered an infraction ( something that is against the law, but is not a crime) but contempt of court can be either criminal or civil.
Since it is an infraction, if you refuse to pay it, they could also turn it over to a collection agency and impact your credit rating.
If you are rufusing to pay to make a political statement, than perhaps you need to find more important causes to risk you freedom and financial wellbeing on.

Your choice, but it would have been a wiser decision to just wear the seatbelt in the first place... really... it is a useful law - wearing a seatbelt saves you killing yourself and others, saves the hospital system from avoidable injuries, etc etc.

IMHO, don't be a ********, just pay the fine and count yourself lucky that you have been given a warning.

It's not really a choice, because the jails are overcrowded in most places, so the court doesn't want you to do time. However, if you don't pay the fine, you'll be sent to jail, but you might be sent for more time than you would have done by doing time instead of paying the fine if you had the choice.

I would hope you have better things to do than go to jail. Just pay the fine, wear your seatbelt and get on with life.

After reading the answers, prior to me putting my two sense worth, seems pretty much on top of things. The only way you can go to jail is by not paying the fine and getting a bench warrant issued. I hope you and BUBBA have a good time.

Third option: wear a seatbelt?

I'd say you're a fool. That makes no sense to me. What's the logic?

You would be stupid, and I would think you want to meet Bubba.
