In NC, can a policeman stop you for nothing more a recalled tag? Is that considered a primary traffic offense? I mean, sitting in traffic, can they run your plates if you're not doing anything wrong?

This law allows an alleged father to challenge the paternity of a child with genetic evidence. If he wins (proves that the child is not his), he is no longer required to pay child support.

Men's rights advocates claim the law gives justice to men decieved into paying child support for someone else's child. Child advocates claim the law is not in the best interests of mothers or children, and will increase the state's welfare burden.

What is your opinion?

There was no car behind me, and he saw me and hesitated so I assumed he was waiting for me to pass (this was on a main street). Right as im about to go through he decides to go first and I ended up hitting the front of his BIKE, not him. Anyway, he falls over and I stop to ask if he's ok. He gets right back up, checks his bike and says "its cool, just go slower around here."

Turns out he was someone I knew back in highschool and he shook my hand and told me to just start going slower. I kept asking if he was ok and insisted he gets my phone number be he said it was ok.

Should I still worry? I've learned my lesson thats for sure...but in the terms of the law...should I still worry?

today, one of my classmates was reprimanded for not standing for the pledge, and was written up for punishment.
One of my classmates said that a government TEACHER told them that they are required to stand for the pledge, but don't have to recite it.
Is there a federal law that says that they don't have to stand OR recite the pledge? I understand that there have been cases in which such laws have been struck down individually by federal courts, but does that mean they apply to other schools aswell?
my state is Pennsylvania, if that affects anything.
Thank you

((Please. No party line answers. Think it over, and give me your heartfelt, honest answer.))

On Iran: We offer to help build and staff their reactor, complete with maintenance, as well as with wiring the nation to accept the new source of electricity better, and maybe even assist in the construction of other facilities, and even a few mosques. We leave administration rights to them, but, our people must be involved on all levels, to assure security and safety, on a purely advisory level. We accept no monies from the People of Iran, for the cost of maintaining a technical advisory team on the premises. All profits will be theirs to reap, and we maintain as much of a cooperative and symbiotic relationship with the facility's staff as possible.

This role allows for verification of a non-combatant intent, yet allows Iran the autonomy of how they run their plant. We need to show these people that, while we have concerns, we don't want to hinder them, either.

hey all you lawyer types - in the past 2 weeks i have gotten two tickets for a "residential permit parking" even though my residential parking permit was clearly displayed on my windshield. i have a feeling that i was ticketed because the permit was displayed in the wrong place - top passenger side instead of bottom passenger side. where can i go to see if this is an actual law? if this is not a law, can i still be ticketed for this so-called "offense"?

On June 27, 2002, BILL 69 was passed in Ontario, called "Prohibiting Profiting from Recounting Crimes Act, 2002". It basicly says no inmate can publish a book. Nor can his family, spouse, friend etc. Any publisher who does so, is supposed to give the proceeds from sales to the Ontario government. This silences inmates, not just while they're inside, but also when they get out! It is an infringement on freedom of speech. It is also an infringement on freedom of the PRESS. It also tells me and thee what we're ALLOWED to read. Think of the books that wouldn't get published! Let's start with (Nobel Prizewinner for Literature!) Alexander Solzhenitsyn's "Gulag Archipeligo"!
People who've been FALSELY convicted can no longer tell their story. David Milgaard's book, Guy Paul Morin, Steven Truscott, Donald Marshall, Hurricane Carter, all released largely because the court of public opinion demanded another look at their case! www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2943

I dont need the gov't or a 'god' to tell me its just plain wrong to kill your child and 'choice' ends when you open your legs. If you don't want the child, u go to an agency and after you give birth you never have to see it again but your mental if you kill a child because its an inconveinence for 3/4 of a year(3/4 of a yr for 80yrs for someone else to live).

If it was due to a rape(which only happens 1% of the time so don't bother using that as an excuse in your arguement.) you do as i said the above. It's also illegal for some one to fire you or take away any kind of school money if your pregnant. Your body only produces a child if it's able to bare it, so no i dont feel sorry for the 14-16 year olds getting pregnant (you dont need a high school degree to know that if you have sex you'll get pregnant). A female body was made to bare children if you don't want them close your legs.

P.S. I have no problem paying more taxes so that a single woman can get welfare for her LIVING child

I think that the sale of fireworks to the public should be illegal, and if people want to see them they should go to a large organised display. Far more socialble and a lot safer.
So many people are injured by fireworks, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of animals traumatised by them.

I definitely think fireworks should be outlawed, they are dangerous and unnecessary.

Interested to hear your thoughts................
