There was no car behind me, and he saw me and hesitated so I assumed he was waiting for me to pass (this was on a main street). Right as im about to go through he decides to go first and I ended up hitting the front of his BIKE, not him. Anyway, he falls over and I stop to ask if he's ok. He gets right back up, checks his bike and says "its cool, just go slower around here."

Turns out he was someone I knew back in highschool and he shook my hand and told me to just start going slower. I kept asking if he was ok and insisted he gets my phone number be he said it was ok.

Should I still worry? I've learned my lesson thats for sure...but in the terms of the law...should I still worry?

Meh. I just WISH I could hit people on bikes!!! I almost ran over some guy on a bike today because he refused to bike into an empty lane and out of my very busy lane and the lanes on the other side of me were very busy as well. He biked right across three lanes of on comming traffic only to suddenly decide to just bike down the road in my lane instead of heading into the empty lane and onto the sidewalk!!! AGH!!!! Its like he was trying to get hit because he kept biking on the edge of my lane and then swerving back into it all the while looking at my car comming towards him and slowing slowing slowing down over his shoulder!

Then AGAIN today I came around a curve and almost hit someone head on because he was all the way in my lane trying to pass two bikers biking side by side in his lane biking towards oncoming traffic... so it wasn't even as if the guy who tried to pass them in my lane could have just followed slowly behind them untill he was around the curve!!!! By biking in his lane in his direction they essentially left him with NO CHOICE but to move into the wrong lane!

GAH!!! I wish they would make biking in the road illegal unless you are crossing at a traffic light or cross walk!

I'd say you should feel fairly safe from legal action this time, However had it been someone else you may have had trouble.

It still should have been reported, he may not seem like he is injured but a few days from now he could be. Always report any accident to the authorities and never NEVER NEVER leave the scene of an accident.

Yes. Be worried. Very worried. It's usually the "good guy" that ends up getting screwed the worst.

You should be okay as long as he insisted that he was okay. Who left the accident first? If he did then everything is okay, besides, you gave him your phone number in case he has any problems.
