Why do some people be foster parents for the money and why cant agencies see this before hand?

The need for foster parents is so high I have a feeling alot of agencies have lowered the standards for becoming foster parents. You would think this day and age with the fear and reality of all the crimes commited against children the standards would be higher, I have no idea if this is true or not. There are many great foster parents that think of the child's welfare before theirs and dedicate their life to helping displaced children. But just like everything else there are bad seeds/people in all walks of life. This country and our current government are in chaos, and every level of the federal government and alot of state governments are full of corruption and incompetence, and the people that suffer the most are the poor and the children.

I think it's because there are not that many people who want to be foster parents. That's why agencies have to lower their standards little bit. I guess you can argue that having parents are better than not having them at all.

Whats the difference?

Birth mother who does crack but keeps on having children for the county $$$$ so that she can do crack...how does that benefit the child
or..OR
Foster parent who keeps kids for the $$$ and pays her mortgage w/it and both the child and the parent benefits.

Neither are the best situation....the best situation would be for the crackhead parent, or abusive parent to GET THEMSELVES together. But the better of two evils is what I go with

Because some people are great actresses and actors and the agencies can't see into the peoples hearts or minds to see if they are sincere or not.

Because it's an easy profit and caseworkers usually are to overloaded with cases to find to right ppl. ppl are to good at acting.
