I dont need the gov't or a 'god' to tell me its just plain wrong to kill your child and 'choice' ends when you open your legs. If you don't want the child, u go to an agency and after you give birth you never have to see it again but your mental if you kill a child because its an inconveinence for 3/4 of a year(3/4 of a yr for 80yrs for someone else to live).

If it was due to a rape(which only happens 1% of the time so don't bother using that as an excuse in your arguement.) you do as i said the above. It's also illegal for some one to fire you or take away any kind of school money if your pregnant. Your body only produces a child if it's able to bare it, so no i dont feel sorry for the 14-16 year olds getting pregnant (you dont need a high school degree to know that if you have sex you'll get pregnant). A female body was made to bare children if you don't want them close your legs.

P.S. I have no problem paying more taxes so that a single woman can get welfare for her LIVING child

Theres a giant leap from your personal freedom of choice to your freedom to abort someone else.
Someone below said "i suppose drinking should be illegal too, because it's wrong, or sodomy, or smoking, etc..." No because its all fine unless you hurt someone... if you mess up and hurt someone you get charged with things like asult and battery. Abortion effects two, Sex is legal but when you kill another human being thats more then asult, its murder i dont care if the person is 50 or 2 months in the womb. You need two seconds in heath or biology class to know that as soon as the sperm gets inside the egg, the child is a separete human being. Why do you think scott petterson got charged with two murders when he killed his wife?

Good points, and valid ones. If you are mature enough to have sex, you need to be mature enough to handle the consequences.

Very few people bother to remember that abortion is a medical procedure with risks and possible life long side effects, not the least of which are psycological.

I would rather pay a little extra to help a young woman get on her feet to support her child than pay a dime for a irresponsible female to terminate a situation she got herself into.

I don't

You are using a sweeping generality to explain away your reasoning for your position in this particular debate. You sound a little touchy and angry. Are you getting an abortion? Is something wrong? Why do you dislike people so much? Can't we all just get along?

And by the way - I DO have a problem with paying more taxes so that a single woman can get welfare for her living child. It's a travesty.

Yes, you have no trouble paying for a single woman, but how about several million? I cannot comprehend how most of the time, people who are anti abortion are also conservatives politically. If we are to do away with abortions (which would be fine with me in many cases except rape and medical reasons), we must plan for the consequences for the literally millions of new citizens we will need to provide medical care for, educate, clothe, feed, and house. Even if all the would-be aborted end up being adopted out, we will need to massively increase our family court system to provide for vast amounts of social workers, judges, administrators, etc. to handle all of that. I believe we need to concentrate way more on bettering the lives of those already among us while recognizing and planning for the societal consequences of such monumental desicions.

Finally a woman who agrees with me.

Thank You.

I also believe the choice is whether or not to protect yourself from getting pregnant and abortion should be about the child not the inconvenience the "mother" feels for lacking any personal responsibilty

i'd rather have a million abortions a year than have people like you breeding.

the point is that a woman in a tough spot is the best one to make decisions about her life, about her body.

Period.

Because not everyone has the common sense that you have.

Those that believe as you do don't want their taxes to pay for taking innocent lives.

Those that don't do not think that they should take responsibility for their choices.
