I think that the sale of fireworks to the public should be illegal, and if people want to see them they should go to a large organised display. Far more socialble and a lot safer.
So many people are injured by fireworks, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of animals traumatised by them.

I definitely think fireworks should be outlawed, they are dangerous and unnecessary.

Interested to hear your thoughts................

i totally agree with you for the same reasons. my animals suffer every year as they seem to go off weeks before now. even the main displays are starting earlier.

the first big display i know of was a few weeks ago in the middle of October! what happened to November 5th! if it was one night only it wouldn't be so bad.

i cant sedate my animals because it goes on for weeks. they are terrified!

even though the sale of fireworks is illegal to kids, they still get them just as they do cigarettes and alcohol.

they are dangerous and just another tool for those intent to be a menace to the public.
it should be illegal to sell them in shops. organised displays should be set for the one night only, so us animal lovers can help our pets by sedation.

you are so right on this subject x

Indeed! Where I live, fireworks are illegal except for new years. I do not think it should be restricted to public displays- that's just takes something out of it.

Special permits for displays are given out by the town, I think, for shows and such. I can't say it has changed my life much, and now there is less risks of random bombs going off and spooking the animals in the middle of the day.

I agree with you the fireworks nowadays are bigger are more powerful than they were years ago. There definately should be an outlaw against fireworks as you say they are far more dangerous now than they ever were and in the wrong hands can be lethal

There was talk of banning shops from selling fireworks and having legal displays in all cities(run by councils etc) so what happened?,lets wait untill more children and adults also pets are burned maimed etc.Fireworks are lethal weapons in the wrong hands,a local estate is full of youthS(male and female)throwing fireworks at each other in the street, with total disregard to passers by.BAN FIREWORKS if not make them illegal and stop shops selling them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't think fireworks should be sold anywhere, organised displays are ok but i think they should be licensed and checked for safety (if they are not already). Selling to the public is irresponsible and dangerous so yes i think they should be illegal.

I think we should put the age of buying fireworks at 21 failing that then I think we should only have organised displays

I agree as my animals are terrified of them.

I'm off to the local superstore (that sells fireworks) to scare their sales staff shitless and see how they feel then!

Why can't they just sell the quiet ones that are just a pretty, but less antisocial.

yes i agree the number of accidents and deliberate injuries caused by fireworks rise every year. more and more mindless morons on the streets at night get their kicks from causing harm to other people and their property and the really sick ones enjoy terrorizing animals. its just not acceptable anymore

I totally agree, did you know that the majority of fireworks manufactured in the U.K. are made by arms factories and it is a nice little earner for the death factories.
