Assuming you are in the UK: It is a Class A proscribed drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. If you are caught with it in your possession and it is a small amount, consistent with personal use, then you are likely to be cautioned the first time round and be taken to court on subsequent occasions. If it is a larger amount, then you could find yourself facing a charge of possession with intent to supply, for which the penalties are far more serious. It isn't worth being caught in that position. It could harm your prospects.

Quite simply you cant as it is possession of a Proscribed Substance.
If you carry anything more than an ounce(all in one bag) the Police can charge you with dealing! a Small Amount including any Joints will be confiscated and they may give you a warning. If you have been caught before then you END up in court.

Cannabis is a class C drug and not a class A as the previous poster stated. Just so you know.

many variables apply
u can be convicted for posession without carrying a bag or any paraphelia...if it is determined that its in your system
but on the other hand, if the amount is small, generally less than 1 ounce, it is a misdemeanor for first offence

You are allowed to carry up to 40 "9 ounce" bars at any one time. But only if it is to sell on. For personal use you can carry up to 8000 "9 ounce bars"

If caught with a small amount you will have it confiscated and given a warning. Any large amounts of separate wraps/bags of it, large cash amounts or scales and you're nicked as a dealer xx
