I live in Canada....And I must say that I am not satisfied with the sentences that violent sex offenders are handed. To me, they deserve to be treated as a murderer, and punished to the FULL extent of the law. Especially with the vicious sex crimes against SMALL DEFENSELESS CHILDREN!! It disgusts me!! Most of them, get this light sentence, protective custody, and parole in a few years. Then they are free to DO IT AGAIN!!! I would even opt for a death penalty if I could be 110% sure they were guilty. And DNA would prove that!!! ( But Canada has no death penalty) It just seems to me, that it is treated too lightly for the pain and neverending suffering they cause. What are your views???

Louisisna has banned wolves from the state but he got the state to say it was ok.. is there anyway for me to do that without having paw 4 grand? Don't tell me that i shouldn't get a wolf I have already been accepted to go to Indiana University, and Have been accepted for a job at a wolf park. At the moment though I want one for myself so does anyone know of a way to do that?

This raccoon is not afraid of humans and is out during the day. At times it has kept me indoors and won't let me out of my mobile home. I've been told by the owners of the park that it is my responsibility but since I pay "lot rent" I feel they should be taking care of this. I reside in Davenport, Florida and trappers want $429 to trap it (which I don't have). I'm unable to find anything pertaining to this at the Florida Fish and Wildlife website. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

War for freedom, Oil, Human rights, corruption and genocide.
We live in 21st century where the problems and political issues between warring continents has taken a nasty role. Gorrilla wars, Using the name of religion and country for personal interests and personal goals, abusing human rights? how anyone known how
many people die of hunger each year? we have had too much of
this non sense war on terror and war on oil based on personal grounds of two or three lunatics. we are not together in a single cause in this world, even the UN role is questionable where if the west or US do not get wat they want, they just do wat they want!
so where will we get our unity and wen wil we get the human rights on top, as God did, and every holy and spiritual religion believes and knows that!

I propose it be called the "you-should-know-better tax"
Taxes on cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc... are important sources of revenues for governments and they're not going to give them up anytime soon.
However, doesn't 'sin tax' seem irrational and paternalistic to you? Doesn't it also violate the principle of separation of Church and State? Sin is, after all, a religious concept.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all for voluntary taxes. They're the easiest of all to avoid. All you have to do is not use the product.
But I suggest it should be called the "you-should-know-better tax". That would underline the fact you entirelly agree to pay that tax everytime you use one of those products.
What do you think? Any other name you would suggest?

What do you guys think about prostitution? Do you think it sould be legal or remain illegal? In my opinion, I feel that if a woman decides to sell her body to someone, that is her decision. I also feel that the person paying for it has a mind of his own also. Am I wrong in thinking this way?

I do not favor abortion, unless it is necessary due to a life-threatening situation. But I figure if we have abortion legalized, why isn't stem cell research allowed to be practiced?
If abortion is permitted to take place and stem cell research is not, then where are the aborted fetuses going? Into the garbage? Is that ethical?
I suppose abortion and stem cell research should go hand-in-hand because at least the aborted fetuses will be going to good use helping people...instead of being thrown away!
Don't you agree?

In 1996, my ex and I obtained a marriage license, had a ceremony with the justice of the peace, and the license was signed. We were told to officially record it and we did not do so. Not on purpose.. just both slackers really and forgetful. We never received any certified copy. We were together for 7 years, had a child, and split up 3.5 years ago.

Were we ever legally married? Do I need to get a divorce? The question has come up now as I'd like to buy a home and the mortgage broker asked if I'd ever been married and if so, when was I divorced. I'm not sure what to tell him!

I've called the county and the state and they both say I need to ask a lawyer. When I searched the county records a few years ago I found no record of our marriage. What does this mean? Does the common law thing apply instead? If so, do I still have to get divorced?

Basically the judge said, "If you plead guilty, I will suspend the charges for these infractions." It was a traffic court ticket I had to take care of if that puts it into a more meaningful context.

I assumed the charges would be "dismissed" but it seems that can only occur if you plead "not guilty". So why should I plead guilty if the charges are going to be suspended (dropped?) ?

I bought a new home in April 2005, but since a few months, I am receiving letters from the council addressed to the previous owner. i think they are reminders for not paid parking tickets or similar (I can se this through the enveloppe, final red-coloured reminders..). I return the letters to the council, informing them this person does not longer live here. I stil receive letters from them, i guess shortly a bailiff will be knocking on my door? What can i do to avoid this?

starbucks pay their workers $1 a day for growing ethiopian coffee, they somehow feel like they are doing a benefit to these poor farmers by buying their coffee, the truth is there is a demand for the coffee and by fair trade standards STARBUCKS have a duty to pay the farmers 45% of the price of the coffee they charge in their stores. Starbucks pays 45% to jamaican blue mountain coffee growers per pack that is sold in their stores but the ethiopian coffee growers get only 5% this is discrimination and unfair. Starbucks need pay up to the ethiopian farmers its their right!

What are my chances of getting probation with no jail time.
I am turning myself in tommorrow morning on felony theft charges from my job. I was the manager there and I soon as I quit the said I was doing refunds, for a totall of 1,500.00 for months. So they turned me in and pressed charges on me. I also have a warrant for not finishing my fine due to health problems. So now there are 2 warrants. 1 Misd and now 1 Feloney. This company never kept up to date paperwork on any refund, and If I have been doing them so long, why did they catch it when I quit? I dont know alot about the laws in Texas, so can someone give me some advice, except hire an attorney. No money and mom of 3.
