My husband is working for a small company that has no formal agreement with staff and seems to feel that an average working week of in excess of 48hrs is acceptable.

I know that this is in direct contradiction to the WTD. My question is - how valid is it to now refuse to work more than 48hrs a week?

In non-Muslim socities (like hindu-sikh etc.) disrecpet and cruelty of so called adminstration, especially police, is well known. The caste system of hindu-sikh socities adds injury to the insult. It is obvioues that poor people may expect their Muslim countymen to help them get justice from Nazi attitude of so called 'high caste mafia'. The caste boundries of hindu system are still too rigid ( and they are become more rigid due to ruthless materialistic influence from west), there is zero expectation that they will ever treat 'low castes' like human beings. In such hopeless situation we look upon islam and prophet Mohammed, whose main mission was equality, charity and brotherhood

My father-in-law died in recent months, and my husband and I strongly suspect that my sister-in-law (my husband's only sibling) is manipulating her Alzheimer's-stricken mother into giving her large amounts of money (tens of thousands a pop) from her savings accounts. What can we do? If our mother willingly gives the money to my sister-in-law, even though she is not mentally competent, is there anything we can do about it? This money is earmarked for our mother to live on, not for our sister to steal from her using the excuse that it's for her kids for some reason or another. What can we do, legally?

Dose it state somewhere in the law that I have a right to know and my boss must tell me who said this or is it at my boss’s discretion to tell me the name of the person

My employer forces me to use my personal vehicle for work. My boss has decided I have to go to a seminar that will put 300 miles of wear and tear on my vehicle and I have no say in the matter. They think this is moral just because they pay mileage but I don't think they have the right to impose themselves on my personal property and they refuse to pay for a rental. So, they make a decision that affects me, I have no say and I have to pay for it in one way or another. Is this legal and if so, why??

For example if in a contract, you're specified that an order" will be received in 2 weeks after it is sent".
(exact wording, not "should be received")

So, if it is sent Friday at 10am. Does the 2 week limit end on the 2nd following Friday at 10am, or even Friday at 11:59pm. (14 days later - and in the same timezone)

We received an item - that we needed Sat am, were assured it would get there on time. Got it the next day, 15 days later, Sat pm. We complained, and were told that Sat fell under the two weeks.

Okay, I get that some people are uncomfortable with homosexuality. They think it's unnatural, or weird, or that God hates it, or they're just scared of it. I have gay family members, so it doesn't seem odd to me, but I understand the aversions.

WHY are they against gay marriage? Even if you hate homosexuality, would it not be better to be gay and married than gay and promiscuous?

Please, no generic answers like "marriage is between a man and a woman." We're talking about gay marriage here, so that's not really an argument. Also, no answers referring to the Bible or other religious text, unless it also contains your own opinion.

Studies have shown that women's breasts aren't sexualized in cultures in which female toplessness is the norm. What's hidden is titillating when it's exposed. For example, men during the Victorian period were often turned on by the sight of a woman's bare ankles, because they were usually hidden. And not only that, but there are actually some men who have more up top than some women, so does it make any sense for these men to be allowed to go topless? Don't you think that if female toplessness became the norm in our culture, women's bodies would be less sexualized?

This guy is supposed to be a prominent Muslim leader in Australia and he says that women who do not wear veil incite men to be rapists. Now, if not wearing the veil is an invitation to rape, men must have turned gay because all women walk around without it.

Three boys, my son age 12 and 2 10 year olds were fooling around on the bus the other day, along with some kids behind them. One kid kept having his hat pulled off his head. My son got out of his seat to let this kid find it. With that the bus driver stopped the bus, went back there yelled at my son and another kid and yanked another kid by the hair. The mom reported it to the school and so did I. Apparently the video doesn't show a "clear picture" of what took place, so they have called several children to the office and, to my knowledge, they have all corroborated what happened.

Now, 3 days later, the same driver is on the bus and has even used intimidation tactics by letting 2 of the boys know that he was "aware of someone's parent calling his supervisor to get him in trouble".

What do you make of this? This woman, because of the lack of action on the school's part, now wants to get the police involved.
Is this serious enough to involve the authorities?

It is my understanding, per my local SBA, that you cannot have an individual (i.e. a non-company individual) be an independent contractor. To the contrary, that an independent contractor must be a company. However, I'm now hearing from alternate sources that an individual can be an independent contractor. So who's right?

It seems that there has to be a legal way to create an agreement between a company (sole proprietorship) and an individual that treats that individual the same as a contractor - i.e. the company and the individual agree that the company is not held liable in any manner (unemployment, taxes, insurance, etc.) and that the individual assumes full liability. Does anyone know a simple way of doing this?

Is there any place on the web where I can find an example of a contract for an individual independent contractor?

And most importantly: Will I be responsible for taxes, insurances or expenses if I have independent contractors; what would they be? FYI, I'm in TX.
