Topless at the beach is common everywhere in Europe. Even sunning in parks, or public events. Don't know what the big deal is here, myself
And yes, fat men with titties are far more disgusting to see, especially when they don't wear an undershirt, and have those hairy nipples wobbling like Jello

I think people being more physically "fit" can lead to them being more confident to be naked in front of other people. Most of the guys I know that are more liberal about being naked are ones with good bodies, whilst I hardly ever see an overweight person get naked publicly, for example. But it doesn't lead to exhibitionism, that's quite a different thing. In those more conservative countries, I think they're often not as conservative as people think. Males always have very strong sex drives. If the women in their community aren't very willing to satisfy those, they'll just turn somewhere else. In most of Europe, you can have promiscuous sex and freely talk about it to all your friends, in those countries like India, a lot of the people probably still have promiscuous sex, but have to be a lot more secretive about it, since it's so frowned upon there.

New York City passed this law many years ago. Yes I think that it's past its time. If we have equality then women should be able to be topless anywhere it is appropriate for men to be topless of course I don't see any nudity as evil or even sexual on its own. any body part that is not sexual ie genitals should not be illegal. the fact is that this is strictly a cultural law that is outdated.

In Ohio, the legality of toplessness by women was challeged a few years ago, and was determined legal, due to the fact that men could go topless with no illegality. Now in parades and other occasions, topless women can strut their stuff with no impunity.

It never made sense to criminalize it in the first place. Do you think cave people worried about stuff like that?
I do think women would be less sexualized. But even better, it would show a glimmer of the return to common sense (which is the opposite of laws).
We have 'progressed' to a point where laws dictate what we wear, what we eat, what we smoke... . It makes me uneasy about any future 'progression'.

Yes..In many countries in Europe, this is already more the case.
It is actually legal in some places in the U.S., and if you were willing to challenge the laws, you could win in many places, on the basis of equal rights (men can run around topless).

I doubt they will become less sexuallized. One has to take into account that in the average female breast, only about 1/3/ of it is dedicated to the production and delivery of milk to offspring. The other 2/3rds? That's for us! -the males members of the species.

women being out in public "topless" isn't illegal. it can't be under the equal protection clause of the Constitution as long as men can be out in public without shirts.

Your question is way to vague . Are you asking if women should be allowed to go out to eat with no shirt on ?, or at just at the beach or lake ? Or anytime they like ?? Your question created more questions for me . sorry
