When my house burned down they threw me and my three small baby's out on the street. They stated I was at fault for my three year old. Which no one know's how the place burned down.

That is why it is so important to get renter's insurance. If your home had faulty wiring or something of that nature, you may be entitled to damages against the land lord. Get an attorney to sit with you and review the facts. An attorney may be willing to hire a fire expert to determine the start of the blaze.

An Apartment is different than a house. A house does not have to re-locate you. An Apartment, if it is in an association, is in a complex (more than one unit) will re-locate you. There is no law that they have to, it is a way to keep your tenants. If it is found, by the Fire Department investigation that a member of your household started the fire, you can be charged for the damage.
