Many oil companies hold patents to technology which would lead to alternative energy, and refuse to sell the rights to or use or develop this technology because it would cut into their oil profits. In addition they are hoarding it up for when the oil is gone, or when we finally wise up and ban its use in everyday civilian transportation. Is this unconstitutional?

These people are using these exclusive rights, but not for the promotion of progress, but to impede it. Illegal?

People in 45 States have VOTED to pass a law or amend their state constitution banning same-sex marriages. Including California, Oregon, Washington and the Midwest - normally very "blue" states. I'm on the fence with this issue but get so annoyed with people pushing it down my throat that I generally come out against it.

I am building a house for someone and need to have the legal stuff to prevent problems and protect both of us. I have a friend who just did the same thing and spent almost a thousand dollars for the document. I am considering just using it and substituting the names, but I don't want to do anything that is wrong. There is nothing on the document that identifies the attorney, gives credit to the attorney, or says anything about a copyright. Can I use it?

I was going with a girl who was in the process of a divorce and now she is pregnant by me. We started having problems, now she's gone back to her husband. She's going to put HIS name on the birth certificate now, which he knows the baby isn't his and is mine. Can she legally do this? Don't I have some say-so about it? I know on the birth certificate when it's filled out it states "I certify that the personal information provided on this certificate is correct to the best of my knowledge and belief." Since she, her husband and I know the baby is mine, I was wondering if there was a law she would be breaking in putting his name on there as the father.

in uk we are taxed on our earnings and charged tax yet again on everything we then buy - legal robbery in my opinion! Inheritance tax - you pay tax all your life, pay stamp duty when u buy the house, anything u make on house pay tax again and when u die the house is passed to next of kin and they pay 40% inheritance when they sell!

I don't believe there should be a death penalty. Even though some people may deserve it, I think that if someone kills another person and they're being punished for it then it's not right to kill them, for two reasons. First off if we kill them then we just did the same thing that they did in the first place and just because it's legal doesn't make it ok in my opinion. And second, If we really wanted to punish them then we should keep them alive and make living for the hell for the rest of their lives. What do you think?
