Some aspects of it would be a grand idea but we would have to alter the constitution a good bit.
I personally would love to see adultery become against the law. I mean that doesn't even have to be religious... the states recognize the contract between two ppl so why not make a law punishing one of them that breaks that contract.

We'd have violated the Constitution 6 or 8 times.
1st Amendment violations: "Though shalt have no other god before me", "You shall not make for yourself an idol", "You shall not bow down to them or worship them", "You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God", "the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work", "Honor your father and your mother" (compelled speech).
And trying to enforce "You shall not covet" being a purely mental state offense would be almost impossible.
It's arguable whether adultery can be enforced by criminal penalties, but even if it could, it is not within the enumerated federal powers, so Congress could not make it a national law.
That leaves murder and theft. Theft can be covered under the Commerce clause, since it affects commercial activity. But again, absent some way to shoehorn murder into the limited enumerated powers, Congress doesn't have the authority to enact it broadly as federal law. That's why the current federal laws against killing people related to interstate travel or actions against federal employees/agents or occurring on federal land.

It will mean the end of Humanity. Why is it that people don't get it. The 10 commandments was designed for times when things were simple. There were no child molesters, rapists, homosexuals, and other sex deviants in those days. Nice question, though.

It would be a better world, but would it really matter, the commandments would be broken as are the now existing laws, which if you read some of them, they do stem from the commandments.

We don;t need them made into a national law, because most of them are already encompassed in common law, after all there is no federal law that said its against the law to kill somebody, yet because of the common law you could get the death sentence if you commit murder.

a million. it fairly is not a query of "if," it fairly is "whilst." 2. Jesus is plenty extra advantageous than a prophet, he's God. it rather is the reason He gets worship. No created being gets worship. 3. There at the instant are no denominations in heaven. we are judged upon the mild we've been given. this means that many would be in heaven who had much less mild approximately Christ than maximum Christians have been given. basically God can choose who's secure to convey to heaven. Jesus is the only thank you to the father, so basically with the help of grace will human beings get in. 4. Judgment is going on precise now. it rather is the reason Jesus says "my reward is with me." (Rev 22:12) If there became no judgment in the previous, there could be no reward for particular persons upon the 2d coming.

The crime rate would go up. However, our current legal system is based in part on Justinians code, the code of Hammurabi and the first five books of the old testament, which includes the ten commandments.

But they have been from time to time.
The big problem is the thou shall not commit adultery.
So the police in the 1940's used to go house to house at night making sure people were married. And if they weren't they would arrest them for sex crimes. And now those same people have to be registered as sex offenders.
The world will only be as perfect as you let it be.

Nice thought ,
It would be nice to think that one day ALL beings in this world could be kind and compassionate towards one another be happy with one another and all live in peace and harmony ...If Everyone in the world generated this to just one person there would be a huge difference.
