I don't believe there should be a death penalty. Even though some people may deserve it, I think that if someone kills another person and they're being punished for it then it's not right to kill them, for two reasons. First off if we kill them then we just did the same thing that they did in the first place and just because it's legal doesn't make it ok in my opinion. And second, If we really wanted to punish them then we should keep them alive and make living for the hell for the rest of their lives. What do you think?

Interesting. You are the first person that I find with exactly the same opinion that I have about death penalty. I completely agree with you.

If someone kills another person in cold blooded premeditated murder, then they should pay with their life.

That means serial killers, and anyone who takes a life.

I'll even stretch that one step further by adding child molestors, because they kill a child from the inside out.

Furthermore, my tax money goes to keep them alive for the rest of their lives in prisons. I don't want to pay for that. If they kill someone, they should pay with their lives. Everyone makes choices in life, they made a choice to take life, I have a choice to enforce the law when I'm on a jury.

I have no problem sentencing someone to the death penalty, no reservations at all whatsoever.

I whole-heartedly believe in the death penalty and believe that it should be used more frequently than it is. Death has been a sentence since the beginning of time. I personally don't feel that life in prison is punishment enough. It only enables that person to continue victimizing behind prison walls.

I think the death penalty is necessary in some instances, for example, terrorists, child-killers and serial killers as these persons have no regard for human life and cannot be reformed. Keeping them alive in living hell is unethical and just as cruel as their deeds.

I agree with the questioner. It is a strange arguement to say we don't believe in killing someone therefore we are going to kill you.

I'm against it

I'm pro-life

and two wrongs do not make a right

we would be much better off working for reformation of criminals than wasting our energy on punishment

i agree. it would be better to keep them alive and torture them every day. the problem that arises is that it is expensive to provide for prisoners. its cheaper to just kill them off. if someone was serving a life sentence for 40 or so years, that would be so much more expensive than just giving them a lethal injection.

my view of the situation? if you kill somebody..you should be killed. if you killed them by drowning them, thats how you should be killed...if you shot them...thats how you die....now i know thats probably more messier than lethal injection...but they should go thru the tension of what they put that person in right before you know your gonna die..especially if you know your gonna be shot..its pretty radicall view...but thats my oppinion for my 14 year old self.

I like it. It's 100% effective. No murderer who has been executed has ever murdered again. You gonna argue with that?
