I'm disturbed, to say the least, by your vote for cloture on the Bush-Kennedy-Kyle "No Illegal Alien Left Behind Act of 2007" ... better known as "comprehensive immigration reform".
I spoke with a woman in your office who told me you voted for cloture so that the issue could be debated. Could you please tell me which Senate rule forbids debating the issue before the cloture vote? You see, I understand that your cloture vote actually limited debate on this monstrosity to just 30 hours.
I can't express to you, without resorting to extreme profanity and invectives, just how strongly I object to the amnesty and guest worker provisions in this bill. Then, at the request of the White House, the requirement that illegal aliens pay back income taxes as a condition of their amnesty was left out of the bill. "It would be too hard for the IRS to figure out how much they owe," is what White House press secretary Tony Snow said.....(continued)
