Bjorn, you really think the blue states would go bankrupt? They are the states the contribute the most to the US economy.

Mike B, I suppose you can try to get slavery if you really want it. Just be careful you don't become a slave yourself.

Differences of opinion are a good thing. It keeps parties from getting their extreme bills passed and, in a perfect world, shows people that despite what they may think, they do not have all the answers. It also allows multiple view points for research, etc. I think politicians are the problem with all the partisan bs, not necessarily that we have differing opinions. It's always good to try and see things from a different point of view -- too bad most people are too busy yelling at each other instead of furthering their knowledge...
A wise man once said, "The world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you may not be right for some. It takes diff'rent strokes to rule the world, yes it does..." I like to think this man was correct.

There are no Confederate states. They're all union states now. I guess you never read the end of "The American Civil War." The North won.
No, we shouldn't split the country along those lines. Look up election stats for the past 20, 40, 60 years. Some states that are "red" used to be blue, and vice versa. Undoubtedly, some will switch back and forth in the next few decades.

No, we'd desire to constantly no longer smash up the country alongside those traces. look up election stats for the past 20, 40, 60 years. some states that are "crimson" was once blue, and vice versa. little doubt, some will substitute from part to part in the following few some years.

That would be stupid. All you need to do is look at presidential elections returns from 1960's to the present. Red states now were blue states then; and vice-versa. The deep South, used to be a Democratic Stronghold voting voting democratic in presidential elections for decades stragiht democrat. It all goes in cycles--the only difference now is that with cable news networks, talk radio, etc. there are a lot of people making a lot of money talking about the differences, problems etc. and the schism seems truly bigger than it is.

No, we fought a civil war to keep the country whole. There is no reason to divide. There are liberals and conservatives in all states, so it would not be possible to draw lines.

Splitting the states is not logical - we Americana's have vacillated on what we want. What separated North and South and now liberal vs. conservative. One day it could be states that have home grown Ethanol vs those that don't. Perhaps we will split God fearing vs. Atheists. Maybe European heritage vs. Latin American.

That would be a stupid move. We fought a Civil War to give equal rights to all and to preserve the union.
I might consider it though IF the red states were allowed to seal their borders!

Why? The US is doing fine as a whole. Why even bother to even ask the question if they wanted to be a seperate country we would need to vote. They would also need to make a government, congress, captial, etc. and if they wanted to be their own country why aren't they asking?
