Alright so I have a heating lamp and a heating pad for under the tank but the thermometer still says the temp is in the 70's.

I have several terrapins, however I was cleaning them out today and I noticed that the smallest one's shell has gone really soft and seems to be cracking at the edges, is this some sort of diet deficiency? The others all seem to be healthy

I bought a Female Russian Tortoise today and when I brought her home I saw she has a thin white line on her shell which I think may be sheel rot. Also there are 2 small areas on her shell that are a little flaky. I am 99% sure this is shell rot, but what I am wondering is, is there a cure, will they grow out of it if taken care of, or will it always be there?

I've always wanted a pet alligator, they are less aggressive that crocodiles. But is there any way to have one as a pet and not be in danger? What can I do to have one as a pet and be 100% sure that I'm not in any danger?

I own an African Leapord Tortoise and he keeps on tearing through my backyard screen in search for more food. I've tried covering it up with something to block his bath but this didn't work well.

Is there anything that could prevent him from going through? Like a special kind of screen (pool screen cause thats where he is, in my pool area). Or is there something I could buy so I can keep him in my actual bakyard that he can't push through or destroy and will protect him from the occasional hawks and eagles in my backyard?

Feel free to give any other possibles answers or if you have a turtle tell me what you do so it doesn't escape.

Thak You!

Yesterday I found a black snake in my garage about 2 feet long, my mom is terrified of snakes so I took it and put it about a half a mile away, today the same snake was at my back door( I could tell by the coloring and length) so I took it again and put it in the woods, about an hour later the same snake came back in the same spot and the first 2 times i grabbed it, it was not aggresive at all but the 3rd time it bit me... I'm thinking it has family near my house, If thats the case I feel pretty bad because my mom made me drive to to my friends house about 4 miles away and I feel bad becuase im taking it from its family.... i dont know much about snakes can anyone fill me in on why it keeps coming back

Ok I have a male russian tortoise now in a rubbermaid tub. I am getting a female russian tortoise and need to build a tortoise table so they have more room. What is the min. size that a male and female tortoise can stay together, so the female has room to get away from the female, all the website I have been to only tell me the min. size to keep ONE russian tortoise, not only do I need to know the min size for 2 to stay together, but there is a boy and girl, which I hear since the female "needs her space" in a way you need to make it a little better? Anybody out there have a russsian tortoise and can help me out?

I made the mistake of purchasing one of those red eyed turtles from Florida. I find out later they are illegal to own in Tennessee. I also feel bad because the turtle just sits in it's glass aquarium. I would like to know if there are any options for providing it a better home.
