We found a wild turtle in our drive. We think it's a painted turtle. It's about 8 to 10 inches in length. Any suggestions on what to do with it?

I have been feeding them turtle sticks & now they have become fairly large and i was hoping that i could feed other things to them also. They also have a tendency to bite each other on their limbs! Is that alright? I keep them in a secluded open area but there is no sunlight out there. Is that fine? If i want to keep them in a big tank, how can i create a basking space for them within the water tank?

collects wild snakes (the poisonous ones) and or lizards frogs or whatever type of dangerous animals in their home, or, if you aren't exactly sure...who is even just rumored to have been doing this for many years or months?
Have you ever met them, and did they seem "okay" to you, or not? why or why not?

The reason I ask...is there was a man where I used to live..and apparently who really kept to himself pretty much,(a loner type) and one day his snakes(many of them poisonous and illegal) got loose in his home! I still remember how scared I think that the police really were! Even the neighbors were horrified!

anybody with a good "tail" to tell? hmmm?

I am a soccer player and when my season starts I will have to travel to alot of away games and will have to have somebody else look after my iguana. Knowing my friends I don't think they will be too keen on grating and chopping a varitety of fruits and vegies like I do, so I want to get some dried food so they can just fill his bowl but I really don't know which to buy.

I have a Mali Uromastyx, it is a desert lizard found in Africa and parts of the middle east. Hes getting bigger now so I am moving him into a 55 gallon tank. I need new trees and rocks for him because hes also outgrowing the ones in his tank. I went to PetCo yesterday but they had like 6 things to choose from, and they were all too small. Where can I find a good variety to choose from. A store with alot to choose from, or an internet site I can order from, either will work. Thank you all. :)

Well I heard that I need a UVB light for my Russian Tortoises, and at the pet store they said UVB lights provide calcium and D3 vitamins but at my pet store the light bulbs cost between, $45 - $85 and I cant afford to keep buying one every few months. Well I found a Vitimin formula thing at the pet store that I add to their food and it provides calcium and D3 vitamins. So can I just use this powder and dont need to get the UVB light bulb or is the UVB light a must have.

My iguana's fought, and the one has a deep wound on his wrist and a break in the skin on his upper arm, what can I do for him until after the holiday weekend? I used gause padding and medical tape to bandage the wounds up as best as possible.

Well I have had one tortoise for about a year and just got another, and am just wondering how I should feed them, they were seperated for about a day while I built them a new home and I bought the new tortoise a feed dish for that time, so now I have 2 feeding dishes for there new cage and I put food in both thinking my first one will eat out of his and the new one out of hers, but they just go and share out of the first one and then work on the other one when their done, but I want to make sure one doesn't hop all the food. So should I A) put food in both and let them share like I did B) Give all their food in one and let them share or C) I was thinking that when I put food in each dish, place them infront of their own dish, and they should just eat the food infront of them. Which one do you think will work better, or does anyone else have a better idea, I will do whatever just dont want one to eat all the food when the other is sleeping or somethign lol!!!

We just introduced the two to eachother two days ago, and we did it slowly; and everything seemed to go just fine, they actually seem to really like eachother. The bigger one was the new one to the cage, and he does the head bobbing to show dominance...sometimes after he does this, the little one, also a male, will run up and bite the big one's beard. At first it seemed like maybe it was play biting or love biting, because other than this, they don't have any problems together. The little one often lays on the bigger one's back and seems to show a lot of affection. This happened once (multiple bites in one "sitting") on the first day they were together, and then it happened once more (just one bite) just now (two days later). Those are the only times this has happened, and it always happens after the bigger one does the head bobbing. So should I be worried about the biting, and what does this mean??
