i have read about using epoxy resin and fiber glass fabric and lining the inside. or using a pond or pool liner strapped inside. please no comments on this cannot be done becasue i can produce 1/2 of a dozen or more websites that say other wise. i was merly wondering if anyone had read about this and had another idea besides epoxy, or a linear.
this is for my two turtles and i know thickness of glass is corelated to water depth.

I found him in a pond, wild, and my boyfriend and his friend are both small animal specialists at a pet store and have helped me set up a good tank and blah blah blah.

problem 1:: every time i pick him up he hisses at me and sometimes tries to bite me. i want him to get used to people so i try to handle him every day [im very gentle with him and i use hand sanitizer after i hold him]

problem 2:: i bought him turtle food and put a carrot on his basking rock and the bf says he wont eat if im in the room so i leave him alone and when i come back hes put the food in the water. will he ever eat out of my hand? when he hisses i stick the carrot in his face so hell eat. ive never seen him eat and im worried. also i bought him a feeder fish {a rosie} and he hasnt shown any interest in that either.

any advice?

ps i think i have the best turtle name ever, Puck. as in hockey puck. i have no intentions of ever using him as a puck tho.

My lizard has no basking light and won't eat his meal worms. I have seen him eat a worm and I'm not sure if the lack of light would cause this kind of behavior. I believe he is going to die soon. Will someone please help me?

tonight i found one of my firebelly toads squished on the floor. we never get them out and i know she was in there earlier today. we have 3 lights sitting on top of a wire mesh lid. there are parts lifted in the back but nothing for her to have climbed to get out. she would have had to jump at least 10 inches to get to the top and there is nothing there for her to clasp onto to get out. any idea's on how she could have escaped?

I'm not really sure though because my sister said that box turtles can go into a coma if they're ill and they can live up to 120 years. I just can't believe this. We've had him since the day i was born (17 years) and it's like losing a family member. Did it die or is it in a coma? It's not moving at all and my mom said there were bubbles coming from the water.

I recently bought two aztec corns, and have had them for about a month. one started laying eggs yesterday that are slightly yellow but mostly white. now the other is acting the same way and I want to be sure I get them into the incubator before it's too late and I lose them. This will be the second clutch for them both.. I didn't realize that I bought gravid females.

I have a small turtle I bought on the street in a little tank about a year ago. Since then she has not grown very much and I noticed recently that she is not opening her eyes. I believe she has contracted some kind of infection from bacteria in the water which was not being changed adequately. I have taken over her care and put rocks in the tank so she can have some "dry time". Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do for her eyes? Anything over the counter or home remedy would be appreciated. Thank you.

I was thinking about purchasing a mexican red knee after doing a bit more research. I can't find anywheres that sells them locally, i live in maryland, but lllreptile sells spiderlings. I bought my sulcata there, so i trust the site, but how long does it take before a spiderling reaches full size?

And has anyone else owned one before, any advice?

My friends brought a small snake over to my house to find out what it was and i could not identify it. I live in CT, it was a light grey color with yellow/orange belly scales and a yellow/orange ring around its neck. Is it a rat snake? Corn? Or is it something i should tell my friends to put back?

Or should I let them catch em naturally. My guys seem to march around the perimeter of the tank while the crickets hang out on the wood I put in there for shelter for the emps. SHould I disable the crickets in some way, tong feed em, or just let em be and catch em on their own?
