A good idea would be to speak to a manager at a local pet store that carries reptiles and ask if they could order a few. That way, they are the ones who pay shipping, and you can see the turtle before you decide to get it (and you may get a couple to choose from). If anything happens to it during shipping, then you aren't responsible for the cost.

If you want to look online, make sure anywhere you order from has an "arrive alive" guarantee. Some places will guarantee them for a few days after delivery. You might find some for sale on the Kingsnake classifieds: http://market.kingsnake.com/

I purchased one healthy side neck from Pet Smart and a reasonable price, @ $35. I also rescued one from the same Pet Smart that had an infected eye that it wound up losing despite treatment with antibiotics. It is very healthy now, eating and growing well, however.
The manager knows me from Reptile Rescue and felt confident I could save her. Most reptiles do not recover from infection.
Thanks for the tip about turtlesale, I will know not to do business with them. I hope they refunded your purchase price.

Look under exotic pets for sale or breeders of exotic pets, also you can try reptile auction and there is different breeders that sell. I have bought from reptile auction and also found different breeders that I have purchase from on there.

Hello..bummer, do you not have any pet stores in your area & in America they buy them from reptile stores & pet stores like PetSmart, Petco...etc..but PLEASE do your homework & have all the know & their new home all set up for them BEFORE you buy !!! Take Care :)
