I bought my beardy at petsmart, and hes bright orange (red face). I emailed Sandfire Dragons, and they told me it was a pretty rare colour, especally to buy from a petstore.
Where did you guys get yours? Is it the regular grey/brown colour?

We are moving all the way across the US from CT to WA. It'll be a week drive not including our stop in IL to see family for acouple days. I am not worried about food/water. What should I do about the housing and heat situation? Since we feed him out of his cage in a box, I don't want it thinking he is being feed, so I don't want to put him in a box. Any suggestions? Thankx

I have a ornate box turtle. He hibernated well and we've been having problems waking him up. He had the stuck eyelids which we bought the drops for, one eye is now open and active but the other is still slow in opening-2 weeks now still not completely open or functioning. We have a vitamin spray we are using and he has plenty of warm clean water and a heat light, however we cannot get him to eat. We have offered a wide variety of food from fruits and veggies to worms, and other bugs....any advice? I don't want to lose him.....

I've tried feeding him worms and other little critters, but he just refuses to eat. How long can they last without eating? I don' t want him to die. Does anyone know?

I have a tortoise and it' s big because it eats a lot, but it also makes the water so dirty often. One day, I saw it open its mouth so widely, is it because it is sleepy, or is that because the water is so dirty that it cannot breath properly? Please help!
I had another tortoise years ago, and it died with its mouth opened and folded down like a triangle, it' s so scary, and before its mouth was opened, it opened its mouth just as mine do now. Please help me. I am so scared that it might die as well.

Is it ok to continue using a regular household 50 watt bulb in my 75 watt fixture, i konw it does not contain uva or uvb lighting but it does pretty much produce heat for him ! he seems to like it just as much as his old 50 watt heat lamp (until it blew) ....

They are in a 75 gallon tank, and they have plenty of room. Sometimes one snaps at the other, and it totally freaks me out. Are they playing? I really don't know what to do.

I need to know a turtle that can live in a 10 gallon glass rectangle aquarium. He/she will be living outside but with a heater(whenever its cold), under gravel filter, and a regular filter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not very experienced with turtles, I just got one and it looked as if it's dead. One of my friends said it's just fainting or stressed out. It's not moving or blinking or anything. It's just stiff. How do you know when it's really dead or it's just fainting?
How do you know if they like anything? What else besides pellets can they eat? What could possibly happen to my turtle?
Help me....

I need to overnight a spotted salamander from Tennessee to Texas, and I'm not sure how to do it. I've shipped scorpions before, but salamanders are obviously at a greater risk of drying out. If anyone has done this before or has any good ideas, please let me know. And please reference your information. There are plenty of people around Y!A who don't know what they're talking about, and I need to be absolutely sure I know what I'm doing 'cause I really don't want to lose this little guy.

Please tell me anything you know about them, good and bad. Someone just gave me one. I have two kids, one is 2 and one is 6 months. I have the turtle out of their reach for "viewing" only. But I would like to know more about it to decide whether it's a good idea to keep it. Thanks!
