Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) is pretty bad when it gets to a certain point. If the vet is saying she is dying there is not much you can do about it.

The problem is that it takes a long time and a lot of work to correct MBD- which is a disorder caused by a long-term dietary deficency, usually of multiple nutrients- mostly calcium, but usually various vitamins as well.

In a more minor case, we would correct the diet, probably offer some correctional supplements nad injections, offer good housing and lighting, and wait as the disorder slowly corrects itself. Even as it corrects itself, some deformities will always remain once they are 'grown in'.

Go to a Vet who has more experience with reptiles, ASAP. I've never seen a turtle with metabolic bone disease. Vitamin A deficiency is much more common in turtles and can be fatal. Its never been proven that turtles require ultraviolet light/natural sunlight, or more correctly that they suffer deficiency problems in the same way that many lizards due.

My turtle did the same, she would stay in the bathtub under water until the point where we had to empty the bathtub or else you would drown, a few hours later, she died. I'm not sure what she had since we rescued her from a horrible house like a month before, and the vet is a good ways away from my home. Best thing is to put her to sleep. I know its going to be hard but theres no other way.

You can either let her die of the metabolic bone disease or you can have her put to sleep. I guess say your last goodbyes and start getting any closure you need. When my pet rabbit died of natural causes, my parents had her buried in a pet cemetery.

Your going to miss your buddy. The best thing to do now, is put her to sleep. Do you want her to suffer? Just spend a good day with her, and make it her favorite, even though it's her last. Then just do what you got to do.
