Hun you keep asking these questions again and again. Maybe you should get out of the reptile catagory and go to rodents.

Pet stores keep a large number of hamsters in the same cage primarily due to lack of space! They can't separate each individual hamster in its own cage, because they wouldn't have anyplace to put them.
Hamsters in pet stores are usually sold fairly quickly, so while they are all together for the short term, they are generally sold and in their new homes before too long. :)

it depends...if you put the same hamsters in a cage they wont fight...but if you put two different kinds of hamsters they wont at first and then eventually they will. i had a teddy bear hamster and a dwarf hamster in this 4 story cage....and i had so many things in the cage....the teddy bear hamster started getting protected of certain parts of the cage that it would bully the dwarf because it was so small compaired to the teddy bear hamsters.....it took a while for them to start fighting...like five months together before the teddy bear got mean

The dwarf hamsters are social and need a friend to live with. Syrians need to be housed alone because they are solitary by nature. The syrians housed together at the pet stores are not fully grown and are still with their littermates.

Chinese, russian and roborovski hamsters are social and so can live together. Syrian (Golden) hamsters must not live together, they are solitary animals. They're OK to live together in the pet shop because they're still young, but once they're adults they will fight if kept together.

How is this a reptiles question? Unless you want info on feeding those hamsters to s large lizard or snake, you should post in the correct area.

Usually only 2 males fight. When the're at the petstore, there's a bunch males. Getting 2 females is your best bet. Or you can get a male and female, but put them in separete cages.

Good luck,
