Do you have their habitat set up? Lights that they need and food for them? If you have all their needs met like you should then they are probably just a little leery of their new surroundings and need a day or so to get used to them. If you didn't get the lights for them to bask in then they are probably too cool and they won't come out and run around like they did at the store.

Was it cold when you brought them home? If not then the "shock" thing is probably not likely. If they are dead then you will know, all the limbs and the head come completely out of the shell. If you do decide to take them to a vet make sure it is one that works with reptiles. They may just be scared leave them be for awhile and see what happens. Set food and water in there tank. Oh and they only hibernate in the winter.

More information would be very helpful. Species, size, housing, etc.
The most common problem here would be too cold of a habitat, or something else very, very wrong with the basic cares.
Without more info, the best I can do is to suggest http://www.tortoisetrust.org for more help.

They are not in shock. They are not hibernating.
You are not keeping them correctly.
I can't tell you what to do because you gave no information whatsoever as to how you're keeping them.
Why didn't you do any research before you bought them?

listen, reptiles have a stricktly visual memory, their whole world is what they used to see out of their pet store cage. tortises are daytime animals so they can see very well, just as well as me or you. so... when you bought them you took them off of thier "home planet" essentially, and put them on a new world. they will snap out of it in a week or so, just try to make them comfortable, correct heat, light, hiding places and fresh greens. they are not dead, they live for 120+ years
