I have one of those 3 foot deep pools for my kids and I have found that during the summer I can't keep the frogs out of it. I tried using alot of chlorine but that didn't help any. I even put a cover over it at night but every day I'd take it off and find a bunch of frog eggs in the water. I can't afford to have to fill and empty it everyday. Any suggestions??

Does anyone know the nehavior pattern of the leopard gecko when trying to mate. Does the male become aggressive with the female? And I know their breeding time is from September to February, but they CAN breed outside of that. We are introducing a male gecko to our female and they began fighting. I am just curious. Thanks

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my previous question. It turns out my turtle likes goldfish, so he's definitely eating now! I'm still concerned about my red eared slider, however. He acts like he's trying to swim through the glass of the aquarium. It's always in the same front corner of the tank. He also refuses to go on his basking area. As soon as i try to put him up there, he immediately goes back into the water and over to the corner of the tank. If I've left him alone for a while and sneak up quietly so I don't scare him, he's usually just sitting in the corner, not swimming. But as soon as he sees me, he immediately starts swimming towards the glass. What's wrong?

Ok, so here's what happened. You may think of me as an idiot, but its ok. I was giving Lily a bath to help with her shedding, and when the water got colder, I took her out to warm it up again. I set her on the ground thinking the only place she could go somewhere unsafe would be under the door. My sister said she would watch her. When she was slithering along where the drawers and cabinet met, she found a hole and disappeared into it! I'm pretty sure her only way out is the way she came in but it's about as wide as she is so I don't know if she can turn around. I tried....uh....well pulling her out but I just ended up hurting her (I really hope she's ok and I know that was dumb you don't have to say it) What do I do?

I have a 'Kricket Keeper' cricket container and am wondering if there is any way that I can easily clean it w/o any escaping crickets. The lady at the pet store said that the crickets are 'supposed' to climb up into the black tubes provided, but so far none have even entered the tubes at will, and cleaning has been risky. What should I do?

The little critters just escape when I open their container to give them gut loading food and even more so when I try and transfer a few of them to a little container to dust them with calcium prior to feeding to our leopard gecko. Any of you experienced reptile keepers out there have any helpful advice, please ?

I recently bought two turtles for the kids and I have never owned any turtles before. I have tried feeding them the turtle pellet food, but they won't eat it. What else do turtles eat that I may try? Thanks.

my water dragon is 10 months old and has got quite defensive recently. I handle her every couple of days and stroke her in her viv almost daily so she should be used to me. Is this wrong or what can i do to improve her 'social' skills.

Also I have heard i should be feeding her some veg. What would you recomend and how can I tempt her?

Every time my dragon takes a poo I clean it up, but the smell is still their all over the house. I clean the tank out every week and wash all the items in side everyday. I use all kinds of different sprays to cover it up but that does not work. I even thought about feeding my dragon only fruit because it is the only thing he eats and does not smell but I know thats not right for him. I use calcium sand which I change every month. Could the smell be in the sand? what should I do? Beside change the sand my dragon refuses to step on news paper. He wont eat or climb down off the branches and will fight to the death if you put him down in it.

My pet tortoise (a female Greek tortoise, about 6"), has had a runny nose since I got her from Petco, about 6 weeks ago. She has a very healthy appetite, and everything else seems normal. Petco wasn't very knowledgable about her, so I can't go to them for answers. Anyone out there who is familiar with turtle/tortoise care who can offer any insights? The closest vet that treats reptiles is not located nearby, and did not call me back when I contacted them with my question.

I keep my 3 inch western painted in a 55gal tank with 5 silverdollars, 6 neon tetras, 3 rainbow sharks, 3 mollies, and a ton of ghost shrimp... and two goldfish for cleaning.
So far the only fish that ever went missing are tetras and guppies, which I bought for him anyway. He leaves fish that are too big to fit completely in his mouth alone. This may not apply to all turtles... But it applies to Hachi.
I have a turtle dock and a piece of driftwood for basking, he prefers the driftwood, but dives off the dock all the time, also the dock is where I put his food. I have a reptisun2.0 UV light over him.

I have two filters, a 501 turtle filter and a whisper filter for 30gal tank. Together they push out 300gal's an hour. The whisper is one that is like a canister in the water, not a hang-off-the-back filter.

So far everything is clean, but should I buy one more whisper filter? Or another 501? I used to have a canister that pumped out 600gal's an hour but it broke, so I had to downgrade

I just got 2 fire belly toads. I have the aquarium set up as half water half land. How deep should the water be? Right now I have it about 2 inches. Also other than crickets what else do they eat. Like blood worms, wax worms and stuff like that.
