I just bought him a few days ago and he won't eat. My heater for the tank broke so I was planning on buying one tomorrow. The water isn't cold but he still won't eat. Ive tried giving him different kinds of things to see if he will eat but the food goes untouched. What do I do? Is he sick?

Hi, um, I want to get a praying mantis as a pet, I found out how to take care of them, but what should go in its cage? I know the cage should have sticks and stuff, but should I get fake ones that wouldnt decompose? Also should the cage have live grass or what? should I get fish tank decorations? Should I give it a reptile tank, with gravel instead of dirt? Tell me all you know please, or refer me to a website. Thanks!

i found a salamander creeping into the garage on a hard rainy day. it is under 2 in and is dark, i live in eugene, oregon. in the 97401 area. i have a fish tank full of dirt and grass that is growing, its compleatly sealed off. we thought he got out but found him under the softer level of dirt, i live in a semi wooded area. with pine trees. the tank full of dirt is a rectangle of soil levels that i lifted from the ground, the tank as slugs and ants in it. it is always very moist. my question is:
1. what is the name of it? do u have a pic?
2. how moist should the tank be?
3. what would it eat.

they are very fast and small, they have copper tipped noses. there is no water around where i live. i hav two pictures:

I found a Red Ear while scooping leaves out of my pond. I believe it is in hiberbation. I brought it in the house and made it a home by following your housing directions. It buried itself in the area of loose, soft dirt. Will it stay that way for a period of time? Should I leave it alone ?

I was given a large bearded dragon: he's 19" and maybe a pound or so in weight. Seems to be in great condition, skin perfect, fat tail base, enthusiastic eater and active. I'm a little daunted by feeding him. What worms/bugs are best and how much food does he need per day? Where should I buy these online to ensure he's getting high quality (I've ordered some from a place called Mulberry Farms)? What kind of greens and houseplants are safe and which dangerous? Does he need a heat lamp at night as well as during the day? I plan to change his sun lamp bulb every six months. How often do they shed? Any other information I haven't thought to ask about is much appreciated!

a vegitarian diet? I would love to have a snake as a pet (A small, harmless one) but could never do it if I have to fed him other animals, even if they are already dead. Isn't there some kind of 'snake food' available at petshops, you know, like 'guinea pig food' and 'dog food'...? If not, what would these vegitarian snakes eat?

I have an adult ball python that is approximately 6 years old. I suspect "she's" a female but I'm not sure. She's approximately 4 ft if not 4.5 ft. I'm not too sure how much she weighs exactly, but she's quite heavier than my 2 year old. If I were to estimate I'd say over 2000 grams.

Thanks,

I was given three turtles about 3 months ago. I'm sure theyre not the same kind since they all look different and are different sizes from small medium to large. Well i have this concern or question. The large turtle and the small one will not eat any of the shrimp or pebble's i give it. I've tried three different brands and i have even tried an assortment of fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure what might be wrong with them. the small one i have seen eat a few times but never the large turtle. could it be that they eat while im not watching but i doubt it most of the food just falls to the bottom. I feed them about every two days just to give them an appetite and i surely dont overfeed them when i do. Today did it though beecause i went five days without feeding them and again the only one that ate was the middle sized one. Who know's maybe they're some type of turtle that can go a long time without eating.

One turtle has given the other small but noticeable injuries. I stayed watching them and I think I figured out what was going on. The attacking turtle seems to be going for the very translucent shedding skin from the other turtle, and i think this is why he is biting him. What do you think?

his tank is too big for himm to even find the crickets, (plus its a mesh tank, the crickets might escape), i've tried baby food, and crested gecko diet but it doesnt seem like he's eating that, he looks a lot skinnier. i put 3 crickets in a couple of days ago, and i think he ate them but im not sure cuz they mmight ahve gone under the newspaper. but he did poop so im assuming he did eat them. can i place him in a small ten gallon tank and put some crickets (around 5 baby crickets) in the tank with him and leave him there for about 2, 3, hours so he can eat them there?
