Yellow-bellies and Red-ears are both sub-species of Slider.

The Sliders include the Red-ear, Yellow-belly, Belize, Columbian, Venezuelan and about 6 other sub-species. Red-ears are just the best known member of the group.

Actually, the 'True' Slider IS the Yellow-belly (Trachemys scripta scripta), the others are variations of this species. For example, the Red-ear is Trachemys scripta elegans.

So, to be totally fair, the Red-ear is a Yellow-belly with a weird mutation causing the red ear stripe.

Some RES have somewhat yellow "ears" (it isn't actually an ear) , but albinos also have yellow ears so if it looked like a normal RES except for the "ears" then it is a normal slider, if the whole turtle is white and has yellow "ears" then it is an albino

I've seen the ablino form on tv and i don't remember them having yellow ears. Is the shell whitish? If not then it's probably just a red eared slider with yellow ears.
