I know that snakes have special lenses over their eyes, but how do they sleep? Do they have more than one lense or do they just leave their eyes "open?"

I have a baby corn snake, purchased from a trusted pet store. I've had him since christmas, and I feed him 1 pinky mouse every week. recently, he puked one up, and hasn't eaten since! he won't get anywhere near 'em! he hasn't eaten in 3 weeks! he's very small, and so is the mouse, but he won't eat!

please tell me he won't die!

Im thinking about getting a pet reptile (or amphibian). I don't have a problem with feeding crickets or anything like that and money isn't that big of an issue either (although I'd like to keep it under 200). Im going to be a teacher soon, so it may eventually be a class pet (although I certainly wouldn't let the kids handle it). Any ideas? I was thinking a leopard gecko or some type of frog.

Okay..my kid wants a turtle and I know nothing about them. What does it take to get started and do I really want to get started? How big do they get? I thought they were little things that lived in a fishbowl..someone else said they get big???? Should I just go for a virtual pet and call it good? We have dogs..isn't that good enough? Anyways....I don't want her to get something that involves alot of my time...yes, i know who will clean and feed and such..I'm prepared for that..within reason.. but I don't want some cute turtle turning into some gigantical turtle and no where to put him....someone else said that anything under 4 inches was illeagal??? aren't there little turtles like what we saw on Hallmark movies?

So what's involved with getting a turtle...? help!

Well, i just posted a question about if my ball python was going to shed, but since she hasn't been out to where i could see her, i decided to get her out. About a week ago, she looked like she was about to shed, but and has looked that was for the last week, but when i got her out this morning, she looked like she has already shed, but i can't find her skin anywhere. Also, lately she hasn't been out of her "hut". Could she have shed? and do Ball pythons sometimes go thru stages where they stay in their shelter all the time, because this isn't like her?

I'm just curious more than anything, I don't actually plan to get one. Where would I get one from and how much would it cost? I know it's illegal to import, thats why I wonder.

and..... my collegue Yvonne says I'll have to drill a hole through its shell and attach some rope to it to stop it wandering off if not in an enclosure - is that true as I think it sounds a little barbaric!!!???

We just bought a baby ball python about a month ago, and almost a week ago we went to get her checked by a reptile specialist and to get her food, and she looked like she was about to shed. Her color got very dull and her eyes were covered. The specialist said that she might not eat becaue she was about to shed but to try anyways. She ate just fine, but you could tell she couldn't really see. Well, that was almost a week ago, and she STILL hasn't shed. We tried giving her a "bath" in warm water to help, but it hasn't. She is usually outside of her "hut" and on the warm side, but the past week, she has just stayed in there. I'm not sure if she's been out once! I thought that maybe she stayed in there because she couldn't see and felt safe, but i've never had a Ball Python before and i know nothing about the whole shedding process. She does have a water dish to help shed, but i don't know if this is normal, or if something's wrong. Any help??

When I put my beardie into her tank last night she was fine, and this morning when I took her out, she started getting seizures, as if she was getting fits, she blows her beard up and starts shaking and then falls over backwards. Then I would like to know if insecticides will harm my bearded dragon in any way.......
Please I have not got the money to take her to the vet and would like to know how to help her

My 3 year old turtle's shell has gone whiteish-yellow, more obvious when it is dry. It looks flakey but its not soft or spongy. You can see his markings a little around the edges and the outline of the shapes but otherwise its white. Not sure how long its been like this cos just got it back from turtle-sitters a couple of months ago. It basks a lot but maybe not getting enough uv cos the light is placed on top of the glass lid. Any suggestions before i spend $$ at the vet?!

I have had sooooooo many animals in my life, and reptiles are a major plus point for me. Just recently I received a dump off, a horridly abused Iguana in need of rescueing, so of course I took him in. He's not very healthy right now, but he's recovering nicely.... but I'm puzzeled as to what breed he is.... any ideas?

click here to see my baby!
