I have an adult ball python that is approximately 6 years old. I suspect "she's" a female but I'm not sure. She's approximately 4 ft if not 4.5 ft. I'm not too sure how much she weighs exactly, but she's quite heavier than my 2 year old. If I were to estimate I'd say over 2000 grams.

Thanks,

A number of methods can be used, one of the least invasive is to check the anal spurs on either side of the vent. Males are more predominant and longer than on females.

Popping and probing are the other two methods, both of which are more invasive but will give you a definitive answer.

Popping is the least invasive of the two sure fire methods, popping involves inverting the snake with one hand, and with very gentle finger pressure just in front of the cloaca. The thumb from the opposite hand is then placed behind the cloaca and rolled towards the head. In males, this will result in the hemipenes to 'pop' out.

Probing is done by sticking a small well lubricated metal probe up the cloaca, if male the probe will go past the spurs, if female the rod won't go in very deeply. THIS METHOD SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY ADVANCED HERP'S OR VETRINARIANS.

Call your local pet store who carries ball Pythons or other speices of pythons and they can determan the sex of your snake.Only a trained person should do it tho..Cuz it could hurt the snake if not poped or probed correctly..Yes Feamales are generaly larger, but if the snake weighs more then you 2yr old you sure its a ball?? I would like to see a picture of it.If you have one I would be glad to see it if it is a ball its one of the biggest I have heard of or seen. u sure its not a blood python? anyhow let me know please.

I would find a local snake hobbyist that is experienced with probing, or find a local vet that sexes snakes.

DO NOT attempt to probe a snake by yourself. You could cause major damage to the snake.

Popping and probing is all you're seeing because of the fact they're the only the type to intercourse them. watching head and tail length isn't precise and is extra of a delusion than something. locate somebody to pop or probe it for you in case you relatively need to understand.

I would take her to a vet and have her probed. If she's that heavy I would love to see a picture of her-she must be a real beast.
