veiled chameleons need 80 to 90 degree temps... him being sick and all he needs to get warm fast!!! i need help!!

Use a normal light bulb till you can get a new one, and maybe give it a warm bath to bring his temp back up.

1. Go to the warmest place in the house and hold him close so he at least gets some body heat
2. Turn your bath on really hot and keep it there. Once it is filled up, empty it out, close the door, make a dry little spot in the tub and put him there. This will keep him warm untill someone gets a new bulb. Or put him close to the hot tub (still full) so that he gets some of it's heat. Just try to make sure that he has a clear area so that he can breath without steam in his nose.
Keep him dry!

I don't know much about reptiles, but do you have a hot water bottle you could fill up and put in his tank until someone can run to the store and get a new bulb? In the future, keep extra bulbs on hand, though.

Chameleons, like all lizards, get 80% of their energy from heat and sunlight, so you'll need to use a normal lamp something similar to keep him active. Just hold him in your hand and rush to closest pet store to buy a vitalamp. Good luck!

Like everyone else said, substitute a normal bulb while you go out to the store and get him a heat bulb.

a regular bulb will produce heat too, just doesnt have the vital rays he needs to absorb vitamins.use a 90watt till you can get a vitalite
