I have a 'Kricket Keeper' cricket container and am wondering if there is any way that I can easily clean it w/o any escaping crickets. The lady at the pet store said that the crickets are 'supposed' to climb up into the black tubes provided, but so far none have even entered the tubes at will, and cleaning has been risky. What should I do?

Here's what I do. My cricket keeper was too small ( i have to get 200 everytime). I take a small cardboard box. Like a shoebox. But taller. About 1/3 way down put cardboard tape all the way around the top. Crickets cannot climb it. Put their egg carton and their food in it. If you put in a heatrock like for ur lizard and tape around the wire really good they will likely stay better. They like heat too. After the put some messwire on top and tape it or rubberband it around just for safety sake. It works for my crickets. Hope this helps.

Here is what I do.... Every time you get a new set of crickets then you should clean it out and if there are any left you should have some cardboard because if the crickets arent going into the pipes they will be attracted to the cardboard. Take a plastic bag and scoop the crickets out with cardboard and drop them into a plastic bag.... throw away the old cardboard then clean it out w. soap and water. Then put food down for the crickets then new cardboard then place the bag w/ the old crickets into the top so that the old crickets will fall back into the container and then put the new crickets in there. The crickets might be escaping from the hole at the top of the black tubes so you might want to tape those holes up.

I would remove all of them into another container while trying to do this so that there is not a risk of any of them escaping. Just get a plastic bag and about half of an egg carton inside so they will not try to eat there way out of the bag. Crickets love cardboard and will eat it before anything else.

Best of luck
