This is especially with the guppies I buy. I test the water and its fine & even had the pet store test it for me & they said it was fine as well. I do regular water changes & don't overfeed my fish. I bought a guppy and a platy the other day and two days later they died (this happens everytime I buy fish!). I went back and they replaced it for me and the new one died as well. They even recommended that I try buying fish from other places to see if they survive and I have and the guppies are usually fine but other fish die. I have plenty of airation in the tanks.
12 gallon tank: 5 female guppies (1 died, then the replacement died) 3 males, 1 baby pleco. 20 gallon: 6 neon tetras, 4 cherry barbs (1 looks like its going to die- its skin around the mouth looks like its peeling), 4 rasboras, 3 mollies, 2 cory cats, and 1 small pleco. The guppy tank is new, cycled using stability. I heard about dyed guppies and that they are weaker and I wonder if that is in fact what I get at this store!
