every other day is fine and a must if you have a betta and keep it in a bowl
If you have him in a filtered and heated tank, once a week of 25% is plenty
Also, when you do waterchanges, please nevertake out the fish, but leave him in there
Hope that helps
Good luck

People that breed Discus and freshwater Angels often don't filter the water, instead they make a system that slowly and continuously changes water, basically a 100% change every 24 hours. They do this because they are trying to get the best breeding/growth conditions for fish that are extremely intolerant of poor water quality.
This extreme is unnecessary for the home user. 25% weekly is fine.

DON'T CHANGE IT EVERY DAY. How often you change the water depends on the size of the tank. If you have a 5 gallon tank or bigger with a filter, you can change 25% a week. If it doesn't have a filter, change 15-25% every 3-4 days. If you have a smaller tank with a filter, change 25% every 5 days. If it doesn't have a filter, change 25% every 2-3 days.

As long as the replacement water closely matches the parameters of the tank water you can change as much as you want as often as you want. Look into discus breeders, they change 50% or more daily in many situations. I change 50%+ weekly on adult angels, fry get anywhere from 90% daily to 50% a couple times weekly.

25% every day or every other day is fine. In fact, it's great--it is very, very healthy for your fish. Just make sure you are dechlorinating the new water before you add it to the tank, and never change 100% of the water. If you go to changing the water weekly, you should move up to 50% changes. Remember, fresh water fish love fresh water!!!

once a week sounds best
it can be good as the water will be cclean
BUT
the fish might not be used to ever changing water levels as in PH and hard ness ad things like that
better to stay with weekly

properly i does no longer say its undesirable, yet doing a 50% water replace each 4 days can get rid of many of the helpful micro organism on your tank. attempt to function water from a mature tank each now and then to get a stability. i in my opinion took water from my pond and placed it right into a goldfish tank, the water continues to be clean so i do no longer even ought to alter it so usually =]

It depends on what kind of fish you have.
In most cases it causes some form of stress to the fish.
I suggest cleaning once a week.

Yeah, that's a really bad idea.
Change the water once a week, but only 25%.
When you change the water, you should let it sit out overnight beforehand.
Every day is too often.

If you have a betta in a 2 gallon bowl or smaller, it would be best to do all that beause you would be stressing the betta with higg nitrates.
