As Jackp1ne said, the social Electric Yellows prefer groups. They are very similar to Powder Blue Cichlids (Pseudotropheus socolofi) though (in many ways, including low aggression). However, Electric Yellows can hybridize with Powder Blues, creating worthless fish that are probably sterile. Email me if you have any questions.

even the yellow labidos get aggressive.

Sorry, I don't know the names of the types of African i have in my tank, i have many kinds, but the yellow labs "yellow with a black stripe down dorsal fin" seems to be a less aggressive fish. Here is a site that has a chart of a lot of Africans from different lake, your going to have to scroll down past the South American section, but this will give you exactly what your looking for.

I would just add more yellow labs, they do well in a group and most other I am familiar with are more aggressive than them, although I believe there are some they can go with.

chilids are generally aggressive fish and all of them should only be placed with other aggressive fish(excluding bettas). The American chilids are the friendliest of all chilids. American chilids include the key hole, angel fish, and the discus(there are more like the Oscar and convict but these fish are only good with each other)keyholes will be the easiest to keep. angelfish require lots of room and discus need to be in schools of at least 5. THE ONLY NON-AGGRESSIVE AFRICAN CHILID IS THE YELLOW ELECTRIC CHILID.

As far as I know there aren't any. They are all territorial fish. Try Gouramis.
