I have often wondered this as well, I also wondered if the vibrations would get to them too. I have had aquariums for years and the fish never seem to be bothered, maybe they are like me though- I have to have the noise and the moving air of a fan when I sleep

I have also wondered this...they don't "appear" to be bothered by it but I'm not a fish so I don't really know. However..without it they are dead so I think they'd probably prefer to be alive with the noise if given the choice :)

i don't know the answer but i am glad to see ones care abot the animals. well as far as i know by the nature we are such a way that we can listen sound according to our volume. like we humans cant listen micro sounds. animals can do it. similerly we can listen sound of earth quack and some animals can listen it and they try to run before it start. may be those fish can listen these type of sounds

I don't know. I guess we have to use filters because they would die without them.
