I have two 7" Comets (one male, one female) living in a 45 gallon tank, with a 'small scat' ... but yesterday the scat died, and my husband thought that the tank was 'too cloudy' so he took the goldfish out and put them in another tank ... but he didn't empty the 45 gallon tank. This morning, we looked, and there are about 100 'teeny tiny' fish swimming at the top of the tank. Both goldfish were acting 'strange' and we did wonder if Phish (the female) was 'going broody' ... now they are both 'playing happily' in the smaller tank, but we aren't sure whether we should just 'clean the 45 gallon tank' (and kill those tiny fish, or wash them down the drain) or try to 'scoop them into a 'cage' and let them 'grow' until they are 'big enough' to be put into the 45 gallon tank. HELP!!! We're doing 'nothing' until we KNOW what those 'baby fish' are!

I was wondering what would be a good tank mate/s for them?
Im fairly new to fishkeeping myself so something on the easier side that is hardy and obviously a community fish. Im in a hard water area (not sure of the pH though) and have a 4 foot tank

my 3 year old niece tipped his tank over and the fish fell out, we took 5 minutes to put him in the tank with clean water. right now he moves but stays still for about 5 minutes at a time. does that mean hes dying? or is regaining his oxygen> he was lying flat now hes lying with body in air and head in rocks. is he okay??

I have one five gallon tank that used to hold 2, yes 2 goldfish, they went to go live at my aunts. After scrubbing and scrubbing everything we are plenty sure that every trace of goldfish is gone from filter, tank, and plants/decorations.

I would like to have a betta along with some guppies, but me being jr. fish person, have no idea as too how many guppies to put with my betta, along with what type.

Also I need to know what bettas eat because, at our pet store all of the employees are greenhorns and know ablsolutly nothing.

My moronic office manager just ( 2 days ago ) set up 2 tiny tanks for his desk. One's 5 gallon, the other 2 gallon. Today I arrived at work to find the 5 gallon with 3 two inch long Malawi cichlids and a pleco in it, and get this- the 2 gallon with 2 two and a half inch long OSCARS and a pleco in it. He informed my concerned face that 'he knows what he's doing' 'they'll be okay in there for a year before they get too big' blah blah blah. He claims he worked at a pet shop for 5 years. I MANAGED a pet shop for 8 but "I don't know what I'm talking about." So here's the question: Do I try to help this jackass take care of these poor doomed fish, or do I wait 'till he leaves and kidnap them? My office is dreary enough without a bunch of floaters to look forward to.....What would YOU do?

There is a tiny slug/snail looking thing glideing across the glass of my aquarium. Where did it come from? It's so little, but think it has a shell. It's about the size of a popcorn kernal and light in color. Is this a snail? How did I "Poof" get a snail? I didn't buy one. Any Ideas?

I have a dalmation molly that is pregnant. I was wondering how to tell if she was going to have babies soon. She was pregnant when I got her, and I don't know how long she was, and I think she might have them soon, but I can't tell. If you could help me, that would be great!

Bear with me because this is going to sound like a worthless question but I am getting at something. My ryukins filter in his 10 gallon tank empties into the tank from about an inch above the water level and creates a current under water where the bubbles are pushed in. Just today I noticed my ryukin swimming into the current and then stopping and trying like mad to swim up the current. At first I thought he was just playing (as may still be the case) but then someone suggested that perhaps he was doing it because there was more air where the bubbles are entering the water. He doesnt stay in it....just swims in it for a second or two and then goes off exploring his rocks and plants and then a few minutes later he is back in it. It has also occured to me that he could just be swimming through a stronger part of the current (since he is swimming closer to the top than he was before, he has only been in the tank for about a week) and getting stuck. The reason i ask is that i would

I have had some baby mollies for around three weeks, maybe more and I bought the mom about two months ago (she is almost ready to have more fry). She was in the Creamsickle lyretail molly tank and I picked her out because she was the only one that was Creamsickle with black spots all over her and the rest were regular Creamsickles. Well she came to my tank along with a Dalmatian lyretail molly ready to have fry. I looked at her lyretail fry last night and found that one was pale with black dots, some where just pale, one was orange with dark reddish orange spots, some where just a reddish orange, and three appear to have a gold dust pattern (orange head, grayish body). I was wondering what genes do Creamsickle mollies carry and what kinds of babies can they have? Since it seems I can’t categorize my fry into one group except for lyretail.

Also what types of colors do mollies come in? Pictures and websites would help, thanks!

I have 4 tetras, 1 female and the rest male, and the female keeps close to the ground in a corner while the rest are swimming around. she only comes up to get food or waits till the food sinks under the filter.

I have a 20 gallon long, good air pump, power filter, thermometer-set at 78-80. I have medium sized aquarium gravel and 2 caves. 9-10 inch tall plants. I originally wanted convicts, hence the caves. But I dont want them to mess up my plants/ rock setup. I would like some type of cichlids, lol very general, but not angels. If I cant have cichlids I could settle for some common community tropicals. Thanks!
