Snails won't live in a bowl, which should be obvious. In a filtered tank, they will eat romaine lettuce and other greens, as well as sinking pellets and algae tabs.

buy something besides goldfish, every time I put a snail in with goldfish they die in a few days because goldfish are some of the dirtiest fish around and it basically poisons the snail, try something like neon tetras or a betta, or barbs. I have an aquarium set up now for about 5 months with a tetra, a barb, a snail and an albino frog and never had a problem. Also make sure you are putting it in a tank that has a filter, that might help as well.

Snails do not make good matches with goldfish. Goldfish make more ammonia than other fish. This settles to the bottom of the tank which is where your snail lives. My goldfish were also very aggressive towards snails.

buy goldfish pellets. They don't eat snails. And snails might harm your fish anyways with all the germs and stuff they carry.
buy a book about how to take care of your fish so they stop dying..
if its the snails that are dying- i dont think you can stick the poor guys in a bowl.. nothing really survives well in bowls. Snails (if underwater) prefer to graze...

First of all you need at least a 10 gallon tank for your goldfish, otherwise you will stunt his growth
here is some more info you really should read through

http://www.firsttankguide.net/goldfish.php
As for the snails, they die because they are tropical, here is some great info

Hope that helps
Good luck

snails LOVE zuchinnni! if you attatch it to a kabob and weight it down in the gravel you will be amazed with the way the snails flock to it!
beware, it will cloud your water. you will want to do a partial water change after the snail is full.
Hope that helps!
