Is 'First Bites' fry food too big for guppies? It's little particles of food and it says on the package: "for all fish" I told the guy at the petstore that I needed food for baby guppies, and he gave me that! Is it good for guppies? Here's a link showning what I feed them:

http://www.hikariusa.com/first_bites.htm

Read this page and it will tell you how small the particles are. Someone please help!!!

I have two convict cichlids in a 30 gallon aquarium. They are a mating pair, and have laid the eggs. I have another 30 gallon in the basement with nothing but 5 neons in it. I was wondering if I could catch a few small bass from a lake and put them in the 30 gallon in my basement to eat the convict fry. I know my neons will be eaten and I'm fine with this. Thanks!

Usually when I buy a new fish I'll get a smaller one for about £3 or £5, but yesterday while at Pets at Home looking for one fancy goldfish as a companion for my other one I saw a lovely Moor for £19.99 and bought it. I know it's not very expensive, but now I'm thinking that it's a lot of money for just one fish. So, have you spent a lot of dosh on one fish? If so what was it and how much did you pay? And do you regret it???

I have a pair of angel fish who laid eggs and hatched them once (they ate the fry). I was confident they would breed again but they seem to have fallen out !

I only have 1 molly in a 2 gallon tank, where it isn't crowed, has hiding places, and an air pump with a filter. My molly is about to have babies, and if i'm correct, you need 1 gallon per inch of a fish, so my molly is fine, but I don't know what I should do with the baby fish. So... what should I do with them?
P.S. I don't have enough money for a 10 gallon tank, unless anyone knows where to get one for $10! And I can't wait for Christmas!

I've had my goldfish Steve since 2004, when my now fiance won him at a festival. Last night I came home to find that our filter must have died yesterday. Steve had his whole fish face out of the water trying to breathe. My fiance' and I raced to a 24 hr Walmart, and got him a new filter. Then at 3am, I noticed that Steve was now floating upside down, but still breathing. I don't know what's wrong with him, but he is sitting on the bottom of the tank upside down breathing, and not swimming at all. Please help!!! What do I do? He's in a 10 gal tank, and he's fed regularly.

My friend has a betta who she noticed is just starting to get tail rot. There is just a little fraying on the ends. Would it be possible for her to not have to use medication, and just do frequent water changes to get rid of the tail rot?
She was gone for almost 2 weeks and the person she got to feed it never changed the water.

My female swordtail just died, i think it was ich because it looked as if it's body was covered in some sort of white powder and it's fins were folded. I will clean the bottom of the tank and do a 50percent water change. I am going to change the substrate from rocks to something smaller. The rocks leave gaps for food and dirt to settle and make it harder to siphon out which probably is why my fish got ich from bad water conditions.

Do i replace all the substrate at the same time? will that be ok? i know some beneficial bacteria grows on the substrate so i don't know if i should replace it all at once or gradually over a week?

Ha got ya, who ever clicked on that question and wanted to answer yes, YOU ARE WRONG

Bettas are NOT happy and healthy in a bowl or in a 1 gallon tank

It's your responsibility to your fish to get at LEAST a 2.5 gallon tank with heater and filter for your betta

There is no truth behind that, that a betta is happy in little bowl?!?!?!

Would you like to be confined to a space of 2X2???
Don't think so

Betta's can live up to 7 years with proper care

So what would you reather have, a happy and healthy betta or one that has a short expected life because of your iresponsibility?????

Here is also some more info about them

Here is also a pic where they live in natural habitat

Please to all the store keepers, we know that you have no other way then to keep them in bowls or small cups!

Ha got ya, this is suppose to be for people that still believe that myth about keeping goldfish in a bowl or a common pleco in a 10 gallon tank

The answer to that is simply NO, and here is why
http://www99.epinions.com/content_3185614980

Here is also a site the provides info on proper care for goldfish
http://www.firsttankguide.net/goldfish.php

It says a MINIMUM of 10 gallon per goldfish, right?

Here is the correct info on a common pleco and his needs
http://members.tripod.com/~Boeing_Dude/id192.htm

What does it say here, oh a minimum of 40 gallon, and you want to put him in a 10 gallon?

Wrong information everywhere, constantly I here from people that get advised from store employees that a pleco can go in a 10 gallon and a goldfish can live in a bowl?!?!

Come on people get real and do some research before you buy a fish

My betta Bow died today, so I am now trying to prepare an aquarium for a new family member, and try to avoid all the mistakes I made with Bow. I set up my 2.5 gallon tank with tap water, put a bowl buddy in it and let it sit for about 3 hours. I just tested the water, and that's when I found out what kind of poison soup Bow must've been swimming in. Hardness of the water was at 300ppm, Alkalinity at 300ppm, PH was at 8.4, and even though there's nothing living in there yet, the nitrite is between .5 and 1ppm. What is going on? How can I fix all that stuff? I don't want to start dumping chemicals in there, because that'll be hard on a fish, plus be a real bear when I have to change water! Does anyone have any advice?
