As the title says where can I go about obtaining one? I'm on my way to college, and I am allowed to have up to a 20 gallon fish tank. So I'm thinking about getting a 10 gallon tank and getting one (and only one) Axolotls, since it lives completely underwater and it's a bit on the exotic side. Just tell me where I could go about obtaining an Axolotls in Cincinnati.

My fish is dying. You might think that it's just a fish and I can just get another one, but I've really gotten attached to this fish. I've had it for many years and it's really big and beautiful. I feel like a horrible owner that I can't cure her. She had been living a healthy life, but one day I decided to feed her commecial pellets and she got constipated and got internal infections.

I'm really depressed...am I exaggerating?

We've had a fish tank for over a year and all the fish were doing great. We had a total of 6 different fish in the tank for the last year and about 3-4 days ago we added an algae eater to the tank and he stuck to the glass and did his thing. Well now it's been 4 days with the new algae eater and came home from work to my kids crying that all the fish were dead except 2 but those 2 shuld be on the way out cuz they are swimming around faster and crazier than they usually do and the ones that died were acting like that a few days before they died. Is that normal for fish to act like that before they die? Would an algae eater be the cause of the dealth of the 5 fish? Any ideas?

The first day we brought our beta home, he ate 3.5 pellets (we're feeding him Hikari betta pellets). The next day he ate 1, but today he wouldn't even look at them. This isn't the first beta I've owned, but it's the first one I've had trouble feeding. I know they like blood worms, but I thought those were only supposed to be used as a supplement, so I wanted to get him used to beta pellets first.

Could the water be the problem? I had dechlorinated the water in the tank and followed all the steps you're supposed to follow to acclimate a new fish to a new tank. We had also bought the fish a live plant and he spends a lot of time either hiding behind it or resting in the leaves of the plant. The other thing he does is rest close to the gravel in the tank. He will swim fairly actively around the tank but always heads towards a wall and swims up and down the wall of the tank with his head against the glass.

Any suggestions?? Ideas? or is it too soon to worry?

I have a community tank with several other fish including amnother plec but my new one I've had for about 3 weeks has really really long poo only seeming to break off when another fish moves through it or it snags on a rock. none of the other fish have ever done a poo nearly as long as this.

I'm restocking my 10 gallon tank. Sadly my two indian dwarf puffers both died. I'm pretty sure it was old age, they were more than a year old, both died within 2 weeks of each other (loneliness? lol)

Anyways, I currently have 4 neon tetras in there. It's cycled for a week with the help of Hagen Cycle and there are two hygros, 3 fake hornworts...[booo! :( ]and 2 pieces of driftwood.

I really really really want a German Blue ram. I had one a long time ago and loved him. Would it be wise to put in a ram with the 4 tetras? I'm thinking of replacing one of the pieces of wood with an old terra cotta pot as I know rams like caves/rock work for hiding. I just love dwarf cichlids, anything other than a ram?

I just started a new 55 gallon tank a week and a half ago and I initially put 6 tetras to cycle it and then added four large angelfish from a different tank. Yesterday, I added a red parrot and a gold severum and when I got home today I saw one of my angels (which is about two years old) dead. I was wondering whether it could have been a disease, or the addition of new fish, or perhaps my tank is too crowded, or maybe the fact that its a new tank. I check all the water parameters and everything looks good. Any ideas? Also, Ive noticed that some of my fish have what seems to be bloodshot eyes. Usually one of the two eyes is redish. Is this normal or is it a sign of sickness? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Got some zebra danios today, got the water checked and it was fine. I got 4, and after they have been in the tank for about 6 hours, 1 danio started darting around very very fast and is now sitting in the water (Not dead) just above the filter breathing very fast - He has been still and breathing for about 10 mins now. Anyone know what could be wrong? As only 1 out of 4 has gone strange. Thanks

I have a 10g fresh water fish tank. I have heard that cleaner shrimp really do clean your tank. I have an algea problem, and I am getting cleaner today, but other wise, I have not way of cleaning the gravel or the fake plants. Can cleaner shrimp live in freshwater?? are there any other fish, shrimp, or water creatures that you can buy at a pet store that clean your tank?

I'm assuming they are nematodes from what I've researced on the internet. I own a 10 Gallon freshwater fishtank with 1 mystery snail, 2 guppies, 1 sailfin molly. Noticed little white worm like things swimming around, they stick to the glass, they're making the tank look horrible! I've cut back on how much I feed them, but after a week of doing that, they are still there.
Do these hurt the fish at all? And, is there anything I can do our buy to get rid of them??
