My fish is dying. You might think that it's just a fish and I can just get another one, but I've really gotten attached to this fish. I've had it for many years and it's really big and beautiful. I feel like a horrible owner that I can't cure her. She had been living a healthy life, but one day I decided to feed her commecial pellets and she got constipated and got internal infections.

I'm really depressed...am I exaggerating?

Why didn't you just post about goldfish constipation and how to cure it? Your beloved fish may not be a goner, but it will be if you don't do something to help it. You never said what kind of fish you have but I am going to go on a limb here and assume you have a goldfish. Have you feed it peas? They should be blanched. Peas are a natural laxative for goldfish, and should help your fish out. Email me if you have any questions.

It's a situation that has no explanation. People, animals, birds, fish. We are all organic creatures and we are born, we live, and we die. Some use religion to explain it all, some use science, Some don't care. What goes up, must come down, that's an analogy for you. All living things be they Dogs, Cats, Fish or us ultimately end up dead. It is a natural process by which all elements of the Earth return to the Earth. The dynamics of a planet as vast and wide as ours decide what creatures will live or die.

Everything has a life cycle, unfortunately.
I'm sorry your fish is dying and its perfectly normal to be attached to the pet. Your not a bad owner, don't blame yourself. Just remember when she was well and now she won't be in any pain.

Good luck

Resurrection plants. I have one about 15 years old. Put it away in a drawer and forgot about it. Thought it was beyond hope, set it in a bowl of water to see if I should toss it out and it came back green again. It was just dried-out and dormant. I am wondering if those things ever die.

Obviously you love your fish very much and it is probably very lucky to have you as its caretaker. Because they don't talk they can't tell you what is wrong. You did your best and for that you should be very proud.

When you fish passes on bury it in a place you can visit and name your next fish after it.

ok i think you are exaggerating because for a fish it is a AWESOME to live for a few years. most fish die after a couple. but u r taking care of your fish WONDerFLLY if it has lived this long....i think you should still feed your fish and not worry about it too much. because thats how life is...u r born then u die...i think you have been a WONDERFUL owner to the fish. the fish probablu luvs you and appreciates alll you've done for it.

Not at all...we as humans get attached to our pets, no matter what species...remember the times you shared together and move forward...there are only two definites in life, death and taxes...

Because there are limited amounts of resources on earth (and the universe). If things didn't die (and we didn't have decomposers to recycle things for us) there wouldn't be any more material for things to grow or reproduce.

No, we get attached to pets, you feed them, put time and energy into them, no matter what the pet is I could understand your feelings of frustration, and sadness!
