There are some plants that goldfish will eat. You might try Anacharis (also called Elodea or Egeria). These make good hiding places, and are a good snack (or source of food if you go away for a weekend). Just be warned that as your goldfish gets larger, they like to play in the gravel and will often uproot your plants!

Actually goldfish are natural "grazers" and require more plant substances and less protein for a healthy diet. Most will do a lot of plant nibbling when available. It's also quite healthy for your goldfish. Of course, they don't care for the flavor of all plants, just most of them. If you're goldfish is still young, it won't eat much. A good way to help save your plant until it has a chance to start growing well in your tank is giving your goldfish some frozen spinach. This tends to ease their desire to graze as much as they normally would.

if by nibble you mean tear four plants out of the gravel every time you stick them back in and then devour them in a matter of days... yes.
lol goldfish are herbivores, so they love plants. some people have better luck with goldfish and plants, but my plants never lasted.s o as long as you're prepared to go through plants then I say go for it. it's great for the tank and the fish. oh, and even if you feed them well they still might eat the plants, mine are over fed if anything :)

I have tons of live plants in my tank and 4 goldfish. They hide behind it when my kitten stares into the tank with her huge eyes, but otherwise, it's unnoticed.

Its good for the water as it adds oxygen! They also like to nibble it which is good for them too, as long as you get the proper plants of course!
