Here is a guppy female just before birth
Notice her dark gravid spot (which can be in some cases lightcolored) and the squary appearance beneath her head

The gestation period for all livebearers is 28days
Hope that helps
Good luck

If the females are starting to get fat they are pregnant. When they are ready the males and other females will start to chase them, most of the time you will never even know. I have been raising guppies off and on for over 20yrs and have never used a breeder box, as long as you have plenty of things for them to hide in, they will do fine. The last time I started I had 2 females and 1 male, in less than 2 months, I had almost 20. By the way, you should have at least 2 females for every 1 male.

I agree with the first poster.
Get either a breeding box or something the baby guppies can hide in. My grandparents used this plastic grass that was about 2 inches long. It came in a 5 inch by 3 inch "sheet" and the baby guppies would hide in it when any of the other fish would come near.
Also, I know you're only 13, but you're more than capable of taking care of guppies. My son is 2 and he has 2 males. He feeds them and we take care of the tank cleaning.
Get ready though dear, guppies breed like mad. LOL

If you don't have the money for a breeder box or plants, you can also buy plastic dish scrubbers (that look like plastic steel wool/sponges) at a dollar store. Unravel one and float it on top of the water. That at least gives the fry some place to hide. You're bound to lose a few to the bigger fish, but plenty of them will survive if they've got enough hiding places.

If the females are getting fat and they have a gravid spot (black spot) above their anal fin, then they are pregnant. It is hard to determine exactly when they are going to give birth, so you should place them in a breeding trap once you start to see signs of pregnancy. When all the fry are born, remove the female and feed the fry live brine shrimp and / or fry food.

Your female guppies are most likely pregnant! If they have a fat belly and a dark spot by their belly, (gravid spot) then they are pregnant. DON'T PUT YOUR FEMALE IN THE BREEDING BOX! Even if you want her to be safe. This will make it less safe. Moving her while she's pregnant can kill her and her babies! However, you can move the babies after she gives birth. Either way, the babies have a chance of getting eaten.
Hope I helped!
Good luck!
