We have tried both peas and carrots as well as his regular food, but he won't eat anything. He will just take it into his mouth and then spit it out again.

I'm working on starting a saltwater tank. I'm going to do a trial run in a 10 gallon tank and just have a few clown fish in it. In a few weeks though I'm going to be getting a 72 gallon bow front and turn it into a saltwater tank. The problem is with a tank that big I have no idea what I need just yet. Ive been reading around and some of this just doesnt make sense. Can someone tell me what i would need to start this thing up, what brand is the best but affordable (i dont have money coming out of my you know what) Can someone help me please?? Thank you

I just got a new fish tank and it is about ten gallons large, and I did not know whether I needed an aeration system for it, like the plant-air things that are at petco, or if that was unnecessary.

I keep reading that it's a disease but people always tell me that it's only the pine-coning that's called dropsy...
I'm confused...

He keeps changing colors and I don't know what they mean. He REALLY doesn't like the water filter and that kinda worries me...he won't let me put it in. And the guy at the pet store said to feed him flake food. But it said they eat krill? Or something? Shrimp? But I don't know where to get them or how to grow them. Ahh I'm so confused!!!

My goldfish has fin rot. I've started medicating it with melafix, but every other time I've tried this, the fish haven't gotten better. Is there anything else I can do to help my fish?

I have 3 "African Cichlids". The guy at my LFS (local fish store) said that they where "mixed african cichlids" and i won't take that as an answer. I need to know exactly what type of African Cichlid it is and what sex it is. I hope these pics are detailed enough! thanks!

but I know absolutely nothing about fish. I've had a few fish here and there throughout my childhood life, but I want an actual tank. Not something too big, under 20 gallons. Can anyone direct me in the right direction as to what kind of fish I should get, what kind of tank, the food I'll need, how to feed it, and any good pet stores. I know of petco and petland discount, but I want to get fish that aren't going to croak after the second week.

My 3 female Guppies had 10 babies a while back. The first fry were a group of 4, and are about (maybe) half their full grown size and are starting to get yellow on their tails. Little while later a group of 6 fry came and at the moment they are about a 3rd the size of the older fry.

1.) How long does it take for Guppies (male and female) to physically and sexually mature?
2.) What is the dominant gene in guppies; Red, Blue, Orange, or Yellow (in order)? Spots or No Spots?
3.) How long will it take for my Guppies to show their true colors?
4.) If my fry start their colors off at yellow will they end at yellow, or could they most likely change more (like to Blue or Red)?
5.) And when do fry start getting they colors? My younger fry, (only a cm long) got some black on their bodies, while my older ones, (2 1/2 cm long) only now started getting some yellow

I'd get a Guppy-keeping hand book, but it's checked out of my Public library at the moment.

I have a 10 galleon coldwater freshwater tank, with 5 goldfishes and 2 dojo loaches(weather loaches). When i placed 3 goldfishes in the tank a few months ago, i spoted white spots on its gill plate, i thought it was ich because it looked like it spreaded to the 2 goldfishes that was already in the tank. So i used RidIck + to fix the problem but it still didnt go away, maybe the dosage i put in the tank was too inconsistant, but i am running out of the medicine and it seems that the parasite is immune to the medicine, what should i do now, i need better solutions to get rid of those parasites(not even sure anymore if they are).

ps: also, it seems that some of the scales are missing or clearish today when was changing the water, i need some methods to take care of this problem, can someone help me?
