The color of a fishes poop can change a lot depending on what it has been eating. Orange color is probably just coming from the food the fish has been eating, it's not a sign of a disease or anything like that.
The fish that died probably died from a water quality issue. If you can, check the ammonia and nitrite level in the tank. If either are high do a water change. If you are unable to check the levels, then assume they are high and still do a 50% water change.
If you check the ammonia and nitrites and they are ok, then you need to look for another cause that your fish died, or at least look at your remaining fish for any indications that something is wrong. If you spot something weird you can post a question describing what you see and we can help.

To begin with, your question in a way answered what you were wanting to know. You said that you just got a tank. This is a common mistake that alot of new tank owners make. With any fish tank, you must allow the tank to cycle. If you didn't and just set it up and popped the fish in, then you basically gave them a death sentence. You have to allow time for the beneficial bacteria to build and the tank to stablize. My suggestion is that if you lost your fish, I would allow the tank to sit for at least another week and then do a 50% water change. Allow another week to go by and test your water quality. Then if everything tests okay-add one small very cheap fish. Perhaps a feeder goldfish. It is survives and the tank is doing great wait another week and add another fish.

The orange poop is due to the food you're feeding them
Did you just buy these fish? sometimes they just die after the shock of being transported and put into a different setting, happens to me all the time.
Or the fish doesn't have that long of a live, is also normal
Anytime I buy fish, at least one of them dies, due to stress
And others die, because they don't have that long of a live expectation, or if they are live bearers lots of them die after they give birth.
But very important is to check your amonia levels, if they are to high you have to bring them to the right level

I think you shoulnt have fish or just get other kinds of fish, dont really worry about fish take them back if they costed you a pretty penny, I had fish and they lasted me forever and i did actually spent a lot on them, its funny when i wanted them to die cause i just didnt want fish anymore i just waited til the last one died but ya it took forever lol. I think you shouldnt really worry about it just ask a vet or a pet store.

Wastes that are orange are okay. I think if you just got your tank, your fish were probably really stressed.
