I have had my Betta for 3 years, he has done well untill now. He is in a 10 gallon filtered and heated tank. I don't know if he is constipated or has some sort of disease. I have contacted the vet and I have medicated him with melaluca. I have also added a salt treatment to his tank. Does any one know what might be wrong with him? I feel it is intestinal.

After treating my betta with BettaFix, I woke up this morning and he had many holes in his tail that wernt there last night. He is in a 10 gallon tank, by himself, and it is filtered. I did a 75% water change today. he is swimming normal, eating like a pig. I heard mixed reviews on treating betta's for tail rot with aquarium salt. Does anyone know some great advise for this situation? Please help! =)

I have two black neons, but it only happens to one. It's also less active than the other, but it eats and seems healthy otherwise. My tank is a 10-gallon with 10 small fish.

Is it okay to have a mix of say 2 moonlight guaramis and 2 powder blue guaramis...basically, is it okay to have a mixture or just the same type - and if you have more than one of each type together or just all one type - will they coexist?

Thanks!

My green terror about 5 " is affected of bloat, it is in second stage of disease with bulging abdomen. I have seen in a site that they wont survive in second stage. Please if u r experienced, give me in detail how should I treat my fish, I really want it to survive!!!!
If the flagyl I add is in tablet form 400mg, how much is required for a 10 g hospital tank.

I have a 10 gallon tank. Five small fish (platys, zebras, little fish like that). Tropical.

How much and how often should I feed? I was doing a pinch but the water is nasty so I think that's too much.

I did want a pair of convicts to go in my aquarium, but now ive heard what a nightmare they can be to get rid of the fry! I have come across another fish thats i would really like as a pair - Green Terrors, Does anyone know anything about these, and if and when they breed how difficult is it to sell or give the fry away? I would like a breeding pair as I would love to see the behaviour of cichlids when they have their young!!

I have an aquarium that I kept cold water fish in they all caught an illness and died.
It has been a while since I last kept fish, but I would like to use the aquarium again for cold water fish.
What is the best thing for me to clean it out with to ensure my new fish are not infected with any germs that might still be in the tank.
obviously I will put the in clean water with the appropriate stuff to take all the nasty chemicals out of the water.

We have had our tank for two years and it seems that it doesn't stay clean for more than a week. The white gavel gets brown on the sides of the tank very quickly. Would it be beneficial to change the gravel?
Also, our fake plant decorations have turned black. I clean the plastic ones every other week. But the cloth-like ones are totally black now and I can't get the scum off. Should I just replace them? Or do they even matter?

I have had goldfishes for the past 1 1/2 yrs(60 ltr tank). Veil-tail, shubunkin and 1 month ago got two orandas. They have all been getting on well. Yesterday I noticed one of the orandas on the bottom barely breathing and most of the fins torn(It was completely fine 24-48 hrs ago). I also noticed that the other oranda is constantly chasing the veil-tail.

I am worried that it might nip other fish's tails.Should I return the oranda? I am not sure what killed the other oranda?

It seems that some of my fish get one bulging eye before they die a few weeks later. What could this be from? The eye is still there but it looks like there is a white ring around it and it looks swollen. The rest of the fish look fine and there is no white on the rest of the sick fish except the eye. Any ideas?

I have a salt water tank and 3 clown fish and a few discus fish have already died in the past week from (suspected) swim bladder disease because they were swimming irregulary and vertically before they died. I have other fish (damsels) in the tank and they are fine. What caused the other fish to develop swim bladder disease? Did I buy them that way? Was it the water? Too little(or too much) oxygen/nitrates/ammonia? Pls help.
