I don't know if its the smallest fish but heres a fact about the smallest catfish ever.It grows up to a size of about 2.5mm and is called the candiru.

The Candiru is the only known parsite that is a vertebrate. In its natural habitat in the amazons, it attaches itself inside the gills of its fish victims and suck the blood from there.Giving it the nickname ''vampire fish''

The worst thing about this fish is that it is also attracted to the scent of urine and blood. So, with that said, many unlucky swimmers in the amazons who urinated while in the water, had the Candiru swim up their anus, and all other holes near it.The only way to remove the Candiru would be through surgery in most cases.

So if you wanna find it, check the amazons but i doubt you would want to own one unless you got a boyfriend who cheated on you or something.
