Quite simply the earthworms would drown in an aquarium filter. Given that fact any additional information becomes irrelevant.

Please don't put earth worms in your filter, they can only survive under water for a day or so depending on how highly oxygenated the water is. They will die, rot and produce ammonia amongst other noxious substances which will kill your fish. But my filter bacteria convert ammonia ultimately to much less harmful nitrate I hear you say, true but your filter has a population of bacteria at a level able to deal with the waste produced by your fish which is in relation to the amount of food (protein) you give them. Your filter will not be able to cope with the sudden upsurge in ammonia that would occur as a result of the introduction of drowned worms to it.
I should also add that whilst your fish will relish a meal of chopped worms the net result will be the same if you over feed as the fish are converting the worms (protein) in to ammonia so if you are not in the habit of feeding worms to your fish, increase the amount gradually giving the population of bacteria in the filter time to increase in proportion to the increase in ammonia produced and you'll be fine. As for the solid fish waste, gently siphon it out when you do your water changes. I would also suggest getting hold of a book on fish keeping and don't listen to hearsay and rumour.

Are you serious about putting earthworms in constant water? Umm, maybe you should try getting yourself some Plecostumes Catfish (Algae Eaters) or a Corydora. They do they same thing and also eat fish flakes and algae wafers. You could purchase about 5 or more Ghost Shrimp. Although, they do the job they are very hard to find. Sometimes, other fish eat them as well.

You can use a flexible pipe cleaner or you can clean it by using bleach and water to remove it and flushing the hose out and leting it dry completely in the sun. WT
