Will 14 live plants ( no carbon dioxide diffuser yet) in a 55 gallong tank and 25 fish raise the ph and ammonia level in the tank? Also, my one fish is starting to get red marks on his body and isn't as active.

I have the floating algae in a 10 gal tank. Currently, I am using this tank to heal a couple fish that got a bit beat up. I'm using aquarium salt and Melafix -- How can I get rid of this green haze? I have to have the filter out, so no, it's not that. I can't afford one of those UV things.. I think there are chemicals out there to take care of the problem, but which ones and can I use them while I'm treating my injured fish?

The chemicals in the water were just fine...Also, the other female is always lying on the bottom of the tank, even if the light is on. Are my fish attacking each other? what is going on??

My beta fish hasnt been acting right for the past week. He isnt eating and swimming around like usual. Also today he has a long yellow/green string of something coming from right underneath his chin. I think my water is too cold. I will be putting a lamp over him to see if that helps. But what about that stuff coming out of him?

i saw it at the store a few days ago and i was wondering if i could use it in a 1 gallon fish bowl for my betta (no filter). I think it's to treat the water in aquariums, but said it is safe to use and impossible to overdose.

heres the link: http://www.hagen.com/usa/aquatic/product.cfm?CAT=1&SUBCAT=121&PROD_ID=01076000020101

I was gonna use a rubbermaid for a quarintine tank for my fish with a space cut in the top for the filter and a submersible heater on a ceramic tile. My question is, are there harmful chemicals in a rubbermaid that would leach out?

I found my beta fish underneath the filter and it had sucked up its long flowy fin things and it's wings, then later on I found my little frog up under it and it had sucked it's leg into it and killed it. I just want to know how you change the level of filtration.

I have four angelfish in my tropical tank and I REALLY want an African Dwarf frog. Problem is, the anglefish are constantly scrapping at each other and somethimes they even chase our mollies and gouramis. It seems to me like the little dwarf frogs could be an easy target for the angelfish, but I don't know much about frogs. So would they bother a frog?

I have got three pearl gouramis, when i got home my tanks temperature was about 60 degrees, and one of them was very motionless on the bottom of the tank. i think it was because the water was so cold for some reason the thermostat didnt kick in. He is not dead yet but does not look good. what can i do to save him, should i take him out?

I would like to have at least 6 red-tail sharks in one tank. I was going to use a 50 gallon tank. Can I put 6 or more rts together? Will a 50 gallon tank be big enough? I do have 2 30 gallon tanks available to put in any rts that doesn't get along with the others, but I think that I can only put one in each of those tanks. Please advise. Thanks

My convict finally laid her eggs yesterday. I was wondering, when will they hatch? Also, I have two pair in the same 55 gallon tank and the mother and father keep harrassing the other pair while the other pair are just chillin in their own territory. Its almost as if they want the tank to themselves. Should I be concerned that the other pair will not reproduce because of the breeding pair?

I've had him for a while and well all the water conditions is well all the tests have 0 for nitrite and ammonia. But this morning I woke up to one of my otos dead and I always thought that was the healthiest one. I didn't find any signs of disease or sickness all my other fish are fine I have a 10g tank with now two other otos and three tiger barbs. The tiger barbs don't bother the otos at all. I'm still depressed over the situation T_T
