If you're up for a drive over the border, Greensburg PA has a store called "Pet Supply Warehouse" that always has big tanks dirt cheap. Its a big warehouse that deals in cash only, and they can get stuff at 1/2 the price of most chain stores. They often beat the prices of web superstores like bigalsonline.com. I live on the other side of pittsburgh, and find that its worth the occasional 40 mile drive there.
Here are items I've bought there.
55 Bare tanks are $79
125 gallon with stand is $289.
36 Gal corner with stand / hood / light $289

walmart sells a 55 gallon for pretty cheap.
